[News] Vote for Double Fine’s Next 4 Prototypes

Vote for this game

Double Fine seems to trust us now that we have donated enough money to fully fund their Double Fine Adventure.  This is good, because we have the opportunity to get some of the funniest writers in game development today to create some really weird projects.  I don’t want to get my expectations up however, so I’m going to be up front about this.  Don’t play it safe and simply pick the one that feels the most comfortable.  I know it feels natural, but don’t trust that instinct.

This isn’t some nameless faceless group of Activision developers creating these game.  This is Tim Freaking Schafer’s production house.  Let’s go weird. Like really weird.

Currently my game of the show is the bird migration epic dubbed The Flock.  Double Fine is a studio who turned something odd like this Happy Song thing in to one of the top Kinect titles Microsoft has.  Darn right I want to see what they can do with the mighty mallard.

There is still quite a few days left to vote for The Flock so make sure your voice gets heard lest you want to play some weird meta game with a generic title like Hack n’ Slash.  Do it for the ducks and go vote for The Flock.

Voting for the game requires a donation divided however you want to the developers, charity or humble themselves.  Donate it all to charity and get a copy of the one of these interesting pitches after the team develops it.  You can also see a video that kinda explains more about the process below.

I have been gaming for 20 years and have seen this industry go from one geared towards children, to one that has grown to accept all demographics. I've grown up side by side with video games and I've seen it turn into this phenomenon. Of course I also enjoy entertainment in all mediums whether it be film, book or sports. I'm just a huge nerd that loves writing about his hobbies.

I’m already hyped for The Flock GotY Edition, complete with Andean Crested Duck and Eurasian Wigeon. Maybe pterodactyls, if we’re lucky.

But really, I voted up for it. I really dig the concept!
