Finally we get a release date for Time and Eternity, Disgaea D2, and The Guided Fate Paradox. Now outside of Disgaea D2, you might not have heard any rumblings about these other two. Which is a shame, because they honestly look the most interesting.
Time and Eternity is the anime game from Imageepoch. I say anime game, because the sprites and characters are so fluidly animated that you could argue it looks like you are playing your favorite anime. At least that’s what it has been billed as. Imageepoch is the same studio that made Fate/Extra for the PSP and Arc Rise Fantasia for the Wii, so pretty anime JRPGs are their mainstay. This being their first PS3 game, the studio is looking to make a splash and could very well do so. This should be released in the summer.
The Guided Fate Paradox is from the original Disgaea team and is being billed as a spiritual successor to Zettai Hero Project, one of the most underrated PSP games I can think of and a darn fine dungeon crawler. This is interesting in that it is one of the Anniversary projects NIS Japan ran. This is a big showcase piece from NIS and it shows when they grab The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya’s artist to do character designs. This will come to us in the fall.
Disgaea D2 is the sequel to the original Disgaea. It’s another Anniversary project so we’ll likely see a lot of polish from the team, but honestly the Guided Fate Paradox looks a bit more interesting at face value as far as gameplay is concerned. However, it’s the quirky Disgaea that we love so much so and we’re getting another. Like the Guided Fate Paradox, this is coming fall 2013.
