Sequel to Banner Saga Will Go Ahead, Despite Dispute with King

Stoic, the studio responsible for hugely successful, kick-starter funded The Banner Saga, have confirmed that they will be working on a sequel. This news comes as a relief to fans after the potentially disastrous consequences of a trademark claim made by King for the game’s use of the word ‘Saga’.

King claimed that The Banner Saga – an epic RPG inspired by Viking legend- could be confused with its own products, including the hugely popular Candy Crush Saga, amongst other titles.

In a recent Facebook post, co-founders Arne Jorgensen, Alex Thomas and John Watson alluded to their feelings about King’s claims, however they confirmed they would be making another game and thanked the community for their continued support.
