Indie Game Documentary ‘We Made a Game’ Goes to Kickstarter

0

Indie studio Deco Digital is working on a multiplayer game for the Xbox One, through Microsoft’s ID@Xbox, and is shooting a documentary about it titled ‘We Made a Game”. The team has set up a Kickstarter page to raise funds and it’s 70 percent of the way there. The main draw of the feature-long documentary is the opportunity to see the process all the way through, from the initial development to launch day. They plan to launch it during the 2014 holiday period, and if funded, the documentary would be online in early January of 2015.

Gaming documentaries now have an increased presence, with titles like King of Kong, Indie Game: The Movie, and Valve’s recent effort Free to Play making a splash. I hope the documentary gets funded, not just because we would get a great look at the creation of an indie game, but because it would prove that people are interested in this sort of thing.
