Assassin’s Creed Origins: All Papyrus Puzzle Locations and Solutions

WHERE TO FIND ALL PAPYRUS PUZZLES IN ASSASSIN’S CREED ORIGINS AND HOW TO SOLVE THEM

Recommended Videos

Papyrus Puzzles are a type of collectible in Assassin’s Creed Origins, and they’re well worth finding and solving. Not only is there an XP bonus for clearing each area that has a Papyrus Puzzle listed as the objective, each scroll contains a cryptic clue as to the whereabouts of a valuable piece of loot. The reward is typically in the form of Legendary gear. There are twenty-four Papyrus Puzzles to find in Assassin’s Creed Origins huge map, and here we’re listing both their locations and the location of the gear to which their riddle alludes to. The location descriptions for the Puzzles themselves are only brief because once you know the general area it should be simple to find it using both Senu’s perception and holding down the up directional button.

Note that when you locate each item of gear it will scale to the level you are currently at. For that reason, we’d suggest not rushing around the map locating all the gear in the early game. Instead, try and spread your search across your playthrough of Assassin’s Creed Origins so that you’ll have decent weapons for the game’s harder final quests.

A Long Drink

“In Siwa, come find me at the bottom of the only bowl big enough for a God.”

There is a temple on the south-western corner of Siwa village called the House of Life. Entering the rear courtyard, you will see a table under a canopy on your right-hand side. The Papyrus Puzzle is sitting atop it.

The “bowl big enough for a God” is a large well south-east of Siwa village. Dive down to the bottom of it and collect the gear from an open sarcophagus.

Burning Bush

“If you head to the other side of the Nile in Ineb-Hedjet Nome, you can find a peak with a great view of the Nile. Take a look around, then come find me, hiding under the only tree nearby.”

To find the clue for this Papyrus Puzzle, travel to the Wabet mummification temple and search its northeast corner.

The peak that the riddle refers to is the large mountain range on the opposite side of the river from the farmlands between Giza and Memphis. Once you scale the mountain, you should be able to see a lonely tree sprouting from the sand south of the mountain.

Make your way to the tree that lies on this side of the Nile at the foot of the mountain. In the large reddish-brown bush at its base, you’ll find the reward.

Fertile Lands

“A few hundred meters north-west of the Temple of Sekhmet in Yamu, which resides by Lake Mareotis, there is a great place to go for a date. Full of palm trees and surrounded by desert, one rock fence was built and closed off with no exit. Find me there.”

You’ll find the Papyrus Puzzle located on an upper walkway in the Yamu temple courtyard.

The item it describes is hidden in a romantic little spot: a walled off area amid a field of tall grass. To the north-west of the temple on Lake Mareotis, you’ll find this small oasis. To find the correct area, keep an eye out for a bunch of sacks leaning against the wall.

Divided Valley

“In the center of Sap-Meh Nome you can find me hidden in a canyon near Anthylla. I’m under a tree that thinks it’s unique, but only because the nearby rock bridge is blocking it from seeing the others of its breed.”

This riddle is located in the Library of Alexandria. When entering through the main central doorway, follow the stacks around to the left and around the corner. The Papyrus on a table just across from the stairs leading up to the second level.

The item is at the foot of a tree in the western part of the canyon north-west of Anthylla Outpost in the middle of Sap-Meh Nome. Beware of the crocodile lair just below.

The Stone Gaze

“In the south section of Mareotis Lake, there is an island full of ruins. A man stares at me all day, it’s quite a bother, so I’m hiding behind a column that blocks his sight.”

Enter the Sarapeion in Alexandria via the northern entrance, then follow the courtyard around to the right. You’ll find this riddle on a desk in the rear chamber on the western wall.

The item is due south of the fast travel point on the island; the southern part of Mareotis Lake, tucked behind the ruins of a stone column.
