Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition Has Cross-Platform Saves

I had a torrid, albeit brief, love affair with Diablo III. For a solid couple of months it was all I wanted to play. But then, ya know, other games came out, games that were prettier or had more interesting mechanics, games that I’d been looking forward to for a while. So we shook hands, parted ways, and I haven’t touched it in almost a year.

But, with the impending release of the Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition, I’ve found myself thinking about all the good times we’d had together, and wanting more. But I’m not so sure I want to continue playing on the PS3, not when I’m planning on (finally) getting a PS4 soon.

Which is why I’m pleased to report that Blizzard has confirmed that players will be able to transfer their characters and save-games from the PS3 and Xbox 360 to the PS4 and Xbox One. And, yes, this works both ways: PS3 to Xbox One and vice versa. Apparently, it’s a pretty simple process, you just have to link your Gamertag or PSN ID to Battle.net.

Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition is scheduled for release August 19 on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4.

  • Hates bad writers.

But will it work backwards? PS4/Xbox One to PS3/360? I doubt it, but I can be a bit of a whore when it comes to an easy list of achievements for an alright game.
