Often times a game gets a released and receives an update either immediately or soon thereafter, usually to patch up any bugs found while the games were being shipped and anything else to tweak the overall software. Hyrule Warriors will be taking a bit of a different approach, as the first free update for the game won’t just be bringing any old patch but rather an entire new game mode.
As to what this game mode will be, that is still yet to be seen, but it’s still wonderful news to hear. It’s very possible that it’s something that might have been left on the cutting room floor, but was ultimately included, but a bit too late, especially now that the game is released in Japan. Since the Japanese twitter account for the game revealed the news, it’s unknown whether or not overseas copies of Hyrule Warriors will simply include this new mode on the disc or in an update as well, since there’s still a while to go until the game hits shelves elsewhere.
Nevertheless, we’re especially excited to see something much more than a small patch coming to Hyrule Warriors. We’ll be sure to update you with any information on the new mode once it surfaces. In the meantime, you can check out our hands-on preview of Hyrule Warriors straight from the E3 showfloor to tide you over until the game releases for Wii U on September 26th.
