CD PROJEKT RED announced today that their upcoming title The Witcher Battle Arena will release worldwide on January 22, on both Android and iOS platforms.
This is the latest entry in the mobile MOBA genre, and it follows titles like the excellent Vainglory and Fates Forever in trying to capture some of the huge popularity of games like League of Legends and Dota 2.
So far the gameplay looks good, with eight players available at launch.
According to their website, matches will be short and intense, and everything in the game will be unlockable for free, ” just by playing the game.”
The Witcher series has grown substantially recently, with the release of The Witcher Adventure Game,as both a tabletop game and on PC, iOS and Android. Both these titles preceed the upcoming release of The Witcher 3, which is due for release on PC May 19.
