Here Are All the Major August Video Game Releases

The summer drought finally comes to an end.

August 4 – Etrian Odyssey Untold 2: The Fafnir Knight (3DS)

The Etrian Odyssey series has been slowly picking up steam over the last couple of years thanks to the popularity of recent releases such as Etrian Odyssey 4. As a result, ATLUS has created enhanced remakes of the older games in the series for the 3DS including Etrian Odyssey Untold 2: The Fafnir Knight. Expect series staple features such as map making using the 3DS stylus and dungeon crawling.

August 4- Galak-Z (PS4)

August Video Game Releases

Spaceship shooter Galak-Z also drops this week and brings roguelike schmup action to the PS4. Structured like a TV show, you’ll have complete five episodes for each of Galak-Z’s five seasons. Galak-Z will also be released on PC eventually as well.

August 4 – Rare Replay (XB1)

Not so much a new game, but instead a collection all of the wonderful games Rare has created over the last three decades. Rare Replay includes N64 classics such as Banjo-Kazooie, Perfect Dark and Conker’s Bad Fur Day, along with early hits such as Jetpac and Battletoads. If you have passing interest in Rare or want to relive some of your old favorite games, Rare Replay seems to be an incredible value.

August 7 – Submerged (PS4, XB1, PC)

Submerged, a third-person action game from developer Uppercut Games, breaks ground for the first time tomorrow on the PS4, and then on the XB1 come Aug.7. Boasting its combat free approach to gameplay, players instead must navigate a mysterious flooded city in search of supplies to save your family.
