Here’s Why Quiet Is So Naked in Metal Gear Solid V: TPP

Naked for a good reason, right?

Quiet has been in the center of the media for quite some time as the hype leading up to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain built to a fever pitch. Her odd choice of apparel made everyone wonder what the heck Kojima was thinking, but he swore up and down that it had a very good reason. Even going so far as to say that we would feel ashamed once we found out why.

Well, we found out why, and it’s definitely none of us who should feel ashamed about it. It turns out that Quiet, the femme fatale sniper, is running around in a bikini because of a parasitic infection that forces her to breath through her skin. Like as though she were a house plant. What? You didn’t catch that? I’ll say it once more; Quiet is running around nearly naked because if she doesn’t, she will suffocate.

So she’s not naked because designers wanted her to be, she’s naked because she has to be. Naked and silent. If you’re a bit confused, don’t worry, you’re not the only one. Many expected something much deeper, and even speculated darker explanations. But no, Quiet just needs to breathe like the rest of us, and needs way more skin showing to do it.

What do you think about the true reason for Quiet’s attire? Let us know in the comments below.
