Here’s Everything That Happened at Sony’s TGS Conference

Sony kicked off their appearance at Tokyo Game Show 2015 with their huge press conference. Most tend to drag on, but this one was straight to the point with very little downtime. It was very efficient and was full of reveals and updates on popular games in the Japanese market. Also showing some games ready to be released in both the western and eastern markets.

The press conference began with the announcement of new PS Vita color styles featuring red, white, blue and the standard black to be launched on the same day the Tokyo Game Show begins. With the PS Vita being hugely popular in Japan, this should boost sales tremendously.

Shuhei Yoshida begins with showing off numerous Japanese titles, then transitions into the announcement of Bloodborne selling well over two million copies. He then proceeds to unveil the trailer for the new Bloodborne expansion: The Old Hunters which features new enemies and an even darker tone for the game. The DLC will be available to download on November 24, 2015 in addition to that, he announced a complete game featuring Bloodborne and The Old Hunters available to purchase on disc on December 3rd, on 2015.

Next up was the announcement that Uncharted 4: A Thieves End will have a global launch on March 18th, 2016. Followed by the reveal that the PS Vita classic, Gravity Daze would be released on the PS4 on December 12th and the sequel, Gravity Daze II coming in 2016. Which will have its own collectors edition with a statue of the protagonist.

A brief montage of the Uncharted collection, Gravity Daze, Bloodborne: The Old Hunters, The Last Guardian, Tearaway, Tomorrow Children and Horizon: Zero Dawn followed.

Ubisoft’s Steve Miller took the stage to show off For Honor and the Assassins Creed DLC, Jack the Ripper, which will be available via the season pass and that it is in current production.

Toshihiro Nagoshi from SEGA came by to show Nu Gogoto rerelease for its 10th anniversary and to say Nu Nogoto 6 would be released in the fall of 2016. Included in the release of Nu Gogoto is a demo for Nu Gogoto 6.

More game trailers were up next with King of Fighters 14, an explosive trailer for Just Cause 3, Phantasy Star Online 2 (launching in 2016), and a brand new Star Wars: Battlefront trailer, announcing the release for November 19, 2016.

Bandai Namco was up next with the announcement of One Piece Burning Blood coming to the PS4 and PS Vita. Also with that announcement came the Xtreme VS Series made exclusively for the PS Vita. In conjunction with that game came the reveal of a new TV show which will feature the robots from the previously mentioned game.

KOEI Tecmo announced Toukiden 2 for the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita with a 2016 release featuring an open world dynamic. Also revealed was NIOH 2, which will be a PS4 exclusive in 2016.

Square Enix unveiled a new Final Fantasy experience in World Of Final Fantasy featuring new characters and monsters to engage with for a 2016 release for the PS4 and PS Vita Along with those, Square announced Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithfullness to be out on February 25, 2016.

It gets better, a Kingdom Hearts collection featuring Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD, Kingdom Hearts: Back Cover and Kingdom Hearts .02: Birth By Sleep- Fragmentary Passing all being released together for the PS4 in 2016 before Kingdom Hearts 3 is released to the masses.

Capcom revealed a new entry into the Biohazard or Resident Evil series. Biohazard: Umbrella Corps It’s a competitive shooter focusing on team competition. A video was shown of it displaying the fast action of the shooter, which looks absolutely amazing. This, too, will launch in 2016.

Toukiden 2

Dragon Quest II was shown featuring multiplayer and is set to launch on the Vita in April of 2016.

The focus next was on the growing indie market and a slight transition to their rapid growth and how SCEJA is investing heavily into them.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III was next to thank the players for participating in the open beta and to continue their love for the game by showing a short video of the game in action. Treyarch was extremely thrilled to have the opportunity to thank the fans in attendance and to be opportunistic their enthusiasm would help them make it the best Call of Duty game yet.

Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference concluded with the reveal of colored face plates for the consumer to personalize their own PS4 through a wide variety of colors available at the Sony store. Which are available for preorder as the show goes on.
