The season pass disc for Telltale Games’ latest adventure title, Minecraft: Story Mode, hits store shelves today for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. That disc holds episode 1 to start, and each subsequent episode becomes immediately available to you as they release, through a brief game update. But that’s not the biggest news of today.
In a surprise move from the developer, Minecraft: Story Mode’s second episode is available to download right now, just two weeks after the premiere episode launched. This is unheard of for Telltale, as most new episodes in their adventure games take anywhere from one to three months to prepare. Clearly they’ve been burning the midnight oil. Episode 2 of Minecraft: Story Mode is available today for home consoles and PC, with the mobile versions coming later this week on Oct. 29. A port for the Wii U is planned, but no release information has been given at this time.
