Yesterday we covered how NVIDIA supposedly leaked the Grand Theft Auto V release for PC. Today in our inbox we received word in the form of an official NVIDIA statement that this was not the case.

“Please note, during our Thursday’s earnings call, our investor relations team provided a list of important games that gamers are looking forward to on PC this fall, and included Grand Theft Auto V on that list. This statement was made with the intent of expressing enthusiasm for the games industry in general, and was not intended to represent specific knowledge possessed by NVIDIA. NVIDIA does not have information on any possible PC version release of Grand Theft Auto or its availability. We deeply regret the error.”

I don’t know what to believe. I’ve been hurt so many times before. Dramatic hand to forehead gesture. Well, it appears PC gamers will have to wait for an official release confirmation. It’s nice to know NVIDIA takes note of what gamers want and “want to express enthusiasm for the games industry.” Don’t worry, master PC race, the day will be announced eventually. For now, keep drooling like the rest of us.
