About

Steve is forever working on that novel. He refuses to use Twitter, for reasons he can no longer remember. He lives in Wales - the Canada of Britain - and apologises for Tom Jones, everyday. His fave games are: Silent Hill 2, Sam & Max Hit the Road, Max Payne 2, Alan Wake, Steambot Chronicles, Gregory Horror Show, SOS: The Final Escape, Deadly Premonition, Hellnight, Persona 4, Last Window, and the odd Tom Clancy game (don't ask).

[News] Max Payne 3 Multiplayer Trailer is Pretty Elite (Squad)

So far, Rockstar Games has done a commendable job of explaining how Max Payne 3’s single player story is in safe hands; looking revitalised, without losing the sight of what made the games so brilliant in the first place. Still, in a time when most see multiplayer in a predominantly solitary experience as a bad idea, Rockstar still have their work cut out for them; especially when Bullet Time and its implications of online use is involved. [Featurama] When ObsCure II got the idea of “subtle” oh so wrong

This week, Twinfinite has been on a slight horror binge, while Silent Hill: Downpour has been getting some decisive reviews.  Whatever the opinion, it’s a nostalgic return to survival horror’s zeitgeist, complete with its emphasis on metaphorical nightmares. [News] The Walking Dead’s Debut Trailer Wants Your Attention (and Brains)

This week, Telltale Games released the debut trailer for their forthcoming episodic title, The Walking Dead. Based on the comics, rather than the TV show, the five part adventure focuses on the survival of Lee Everett, a fugitive con, and his redemption through the eyes of an orphaned girl, Clementine.  Key characters from the comics appear, like Glenn and Hershel; along with a new group of survivors having to cope with those infamous moments of suffering and un-dead chow. In [...]

[Overlooked Gems] Resonance of Fate

Resonance of Fate‘s launch was hardly illustrious. Sega’s decision to release it, not as a competitor, but merely as a limited alternative to Final Fantasy XIII, didn’t exude much confidence in publisher and consumer, alike.  Two years on, and the internet is rife with complaints about Final Fantasy XIII; its wildfire notoriety will forever preserve the game as an industry talking point. That really shouldn’t be the case, because Resonance of Fate is one of the best J-RPGs, this generation.  [...]
