“Spiritual Successor” to Eternal Darkness Announced

Fans of Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem (2002), the critically acclaimed survival horror classic on the GameCube, have reason to celebrate. After ten years of waiting, and numerous failed attempts at making a sequel, it seemed that Eternal Darkness was in some sort of development limbo. Many lost hope. Yet, on May 3rd, the original team of developers announced that they are launching a crowdfunding campaign (which begins Monday, May 6th, at 12:00 PM) for a “spiritual successor,” tentatively titled Shadow [...]

Dark Souls II Trailer And Gameplay Video

An exclusive gameplay reveal video was released on IGN earlier today and game director Yui Tanimura explained a few of the improvements and focuses of Dark Souls II. The main improvement he elaborated on through a  translator was the graphical quality. One of the things we thought was critical to that was the graphical improvements for more reality, more realistic expressions of everything we want to show in the game. The game looks great and seems just as jam-packed full [...]

Injustice: Gods Among Us Demo Impressions

Injustice: Gods Among Us  is the new fighting title from NetherRealm Productions, the genius minds responsible for 2011′s extremely satisfying Mortal Kombat. Announced last summer, the public demo for personally one of my most anticipated games of 2013 was released not too long ago. Needless to say, I’ve been playing the mess out of it. How does it hold up? Does it feel like a re-skinned Mortal Kombat, or is there more to it than ‘MK vs. DC’ minus the ‘MK‘? Hit the jump [...]

[PAX] Video: Transistor Interview with Greg Kasavin

I had the opportunity to stand up again and talk to Greg Kasavin, Creative Director behind Supergiant Games, about their latest work, Transistor. Being such a critical and commercial hit, it was a wonder how Supergiant Games would top Bastion, but from their progress so far, it’s looking like we will have another groundbreaking experience to look forward to in early 2014. Hit the jump for some gameplay straight from Supergiant’s booth. Alternatively, click here for Trey’s full written preview.

[PAX] Video: MechKnight Chronicles Interview with Jesse Sosa

We had the chance to check out this extremely impressive brawler called MechKnight Chronicles in the Indie Mega Booth at PAX East. I spoke with the co-founder of Dinosaur Games Jesse Sosa to see how they put this wonderful and impressive demo together in just two and a half months. Very nice guy, and we can’t wait to see where this game goes in another two and a half months!

[PAX] Video: The Last of Us Interview with Eric Monacelli

I had the opportunity to sit down… well, stand up, and talk to Eric Monacelli, Community Strategist for Naughty Dog about their upcoming game The Last of Us. I played a thirty minute demo, and couldn’t wait to learn more about this incredible looking game. You can also check out my full preview right on this magic link. Look forward to The Last of Us June 14th.

[PAX] Hands-On Preview: The Last of Us

We checked out The Last of Us back at E3 with a showcase that completely blew us away. This year at PAX East, I had the chance to play a 30 minute demo of this excellent upcoming third person action game. This being the first time The Last of Us has been playable, it was a mystery whether or not this game would be as dynamic as the video previews led on. I’m happy to report that it did not disappoint in the [...]
