The Wii U arrived in North America on November 2012, as the first wave of the next-generation consoles to consumers. The system brought a number of changes over the original Wii platform including a tablet controller for a unique dual-screen experience. Maintaining Nintendo’s economic perspective when it comes gaming hardware and power, the system is nevertheless a large step in Nintendo’s product history as its first HD capable system.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Not on Xbox One…Yet?

Are your spidey senses tingling at the thought of playing The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on your shiny new Xbox One? I hope not, because you’re in for some mighty disappointing news. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be available April 29 on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Wii U, and 3DS…but not the Xbox One. The first hint that something was amiss was when Activision pulled the Xbox One box art from the game’s site. Since then, Activision has commented, “We are [...]

Super Mario Bros. 3 on the 3DS Virtual Console and More GBA Games on Wii U

Everyone’s favorite plumbing simulator, Super Mario Bros. 3, is now available for download off of the 3DS eShop for $4.99. This is the original NES version of the game, so if you were hoping for the revamped All-Stars style GBA game, you’re gonna have to wait just a bit longer. But in the meantime, you can once again play what some consider to be the greatest NES game of all time anywhere and everywhere you go! I know I’ll be picking it up. [...]

DuckTales: Remastered Soundtrack Releasing Digitally on April 29th

One of the best surprises of last year was not just the actual release of DuckTales: Remastered, a polished remake of the original NES classic, but the amazing soundtrack of remixed and remastered tunes by chiptune mainstay, Jake “virt” Kaufman. The game itself was honestly worth actually buying for the music alone. So much so that fans were begging for a soundtrack release, but unfortunately that choice was in the hands of Disney and not Capcom or developer Wayforward. Now, a digital [...]

“You Got Served” – Nintendo Sued Over Dual Screen Technology

Nintendo has been accused of patent infringement by a Texas LLC called Secure Axcess over dual screen technology. The patent, shown here, was issued in 2003 by this company and they are sporting a raging litigious boner for The House that Mario Built. While they had tried the same tactic earlier this year over the DS in all its incarnations, this time they’re apparently targeting the Wii U’s multi-screen technology. The lawsuit not only names Nintendo, but a number of [...]

It’s happening, you guys. It’s really happening. Most recently, the first concept art for the new design of protagonist Jade has appeared on Twitter. And, boy, does she look fab. She seems to be sporting some sort of hakama-style pants this time around, and she just [...]

Missing the Boat – 5 Video Games Where You Really Needed to Be There

One of the most galvanizing things about being part of the video game community is when a game comes out that everybody is playing. Whether you are following along on Twitch, reading updates on Twitter, or playing on multiplayer servers, there is a palatable sense of togetherness that happens as a large cross-section dives into a new title at once. It happens regularly, but with a wide range of games; some that come to mind are Dark Souls, BioShock Infinite, [...]

LEGO The Hobbit Review – Going on an Adventure

Over the past 9 years, the LEGO series has evolved into an established franchise in the same vein as Call of Duty or Assassin’s Creed. Annual installments may have diminished the original luster of the series but each one is still a great game on its own. Developer Traveller’s Tales follow their established formula of taking a popular entertainment franchise and “LEGO-fying” it into a family-fun experience that captures the spirit of the source material. And just like the last [...]

Games You’re Looking Forward to This Year? – Twinfinite Discusses

Hey there! We’re back with another Twinfinite Discusses with special guest Muaz! He’s filling in for Austin and Alex these couple of weeks as they ran off to get married and go on their honeymoon, but we weren’t invited. Such topics as which games we’re looking forward to this [...]
