Splinter Cell: Blacklist Co-op Trailer Just Went to the Top of My Blacklist

2010′s Splinter Cell: Conviction was easily one of my favorite games of that year. Not only did it have a great story that showcased Sam Fisher’s new array of badass stealth mechanics, but it had one of the best co-op campaigns I had ever played. With Splinter Cell: Blacklist coming out this year, there’s even more to get excited about. Especially the return of the co-op story. The trailer above shows some intense and very fun segments dealing with sneaking in a guarded [...]

For the forlorn hearts who wish to experience the New Super Luigi U content but don’t own New Super Mario Bros. U, you are in luck. This ought to be convenient for anyone with internet connectivity issues unable to download the downloadable content, people who don’t already own the original game, or collectors.

Batman: Arkham Origins Teaser Released – Batman Begins…Again

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. The latest installment in a popular series is going back to its roots, and taking us back to where it all began. Yawn. On the other hand, this is Batman we are talking about here so at the very least I’m intrigued. Today, Warner Bros. has released a teaser trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins. According to the press release, this game “introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events [...]

Super Metroid On Sale On Wii U Virtual Console

Super Metroid is one of those Nintendo games that is timeless and is widely considered one of the best games ever. With the lackluster pickings on the Wii U’s virtual console, it even has the distinction of being one of the best games available on the Wii U. In recognition of the 30th anniversary of the original Famicom, Super Metroid is on sale for 30 cents starting today and continuing for 30 days. This is the perfect chance for all [...]

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Gameplay Trailer – Exactly What You Think It Is

Assassin’s Creed is a series in which there are about a hundred reasons why I should be crazy about it, but it just doesn’t quite click with me. Thankfully for Ubisoft, my preferences don’t represent the majority of video game fans because every new one they churn out comes up solid gold. The latest installment, entitled Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, features a new character named Edward Kenway. Kenway is a member of the British Navy in the early 1800s, [...]

Journey Beneath the Land of Ooo in the New Adventure Time Game

Pendleton Ward, D3 Publisher, WayForward Games, and Cartoon Network are once again uniting for a sequel to the 3DS game based on the hit animated series, Adventure Time, with yet another crazy awesome subtitle. Also, this time, the new Adventure Time game will be going multi-platform. Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW! will be making its debut on the WiiU, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Nintendo 3DS.

“Spiritual Successor” to Eternal Darkness Announced

Fans of Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem (2002), the critically acclaimed survival horror classic on the GameCube, have reason to celebrate. After ten years of waiting, and numerous failed attempts at making a sequel, it seemed that Eternal Darkness was in some sort of development limbo. Many lost hope. Yet, on May 3rd, the original team of developers announced that they are launching a crowdfunding campaign (which begins Monday, May 6th, at 12:00 PM) for a “spiritual successor,” tentatively titled Shadow [...]

Gearbox and Marketing Honesty – Do You Believe In Life After Lies?

By now it has hit all the major gaming news outlets that SEGA and Gearbox are being sued in a class-action lawsuit over alleged misrepresentation of quality and false advertising of their early contender for worst game of 2013; Aliens: Colonial Marines. I won’t go into too much detail here but you can get the full backstory via our friends at Polygon. This isn’t the first time video game publishers and developers have been under fire for delivering a product [...]

Call of Duty: Ghosts Confirmed – Ghosts With Guns

Activision just confirmed the release of their upcoming title Call of Duty: Ghosts via Twitter. Recently, some online retailers had spoiled the surprise by accidentally listing the game too early. Activision seems to have just gone along with that, releasing the teaser site soon after. Based on that leaked box art, Infinity Ward seems to be once again at the helm of this project. According to the official Facebook page, there will be a full reveal of the game on [...]

Classic Songs That Could TOTALLY Be About Video Games

Music is such a fascinating art form because it is ubiquitous yet elusive. It’s something that can resonate by just having it on in the background. Songs evoke specific feelings and specific moments in one’s life, and when well-placed can transform a scene in a movie or game into something truly special. Consider the comic strip above. Jimi Hendrix died over 40 years before Minecraft was created, but that badass lyric from Voodoo Child has an entirely new meaning as [...]
