Call of Doggies

Nope, that’s not a Fallout 4 screenshot. Rather, it was announced during the Xbox One reveal that Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Ghosts will feature canine companions. According to executive producer Mark Rubin, “We’ve had dogs in Call of Duty before, but…this is someone you care about, this is a squad member. He does everything from sniffing out explosives to protecting the team.” Cut to a video of real-life dogs jumping around wearing adorable little motion capture outfits. I’m not [...]

Call of Duty Ghosts? More Like Call of Duty BROSTS!

Who didn’t see this coming? With a new Xbox means a new Call of Duty and Infinity Ward is back with Call of Duty Ghosts. A next-gen entry into the series they’ve hired writer Steven Gaghan (Traffic, Syriana) to build an emotional and narrative driven entry into the franchise. My thoughts? It’s a prettier thing we’ve seen before but aside from state-of-the-art doggy mo-cap I still can’t get myself overly excited until I see a bit more than the graphics.

Halo TV Show Produced by Steven Spielberg

A new television show based on the Halo franchise will be brought to you from Xbox to fans. The Steven Spielberg produced series will debut for premium Xbox users. Personally the talk of “premium” brings to mind of Netflix’s original content and is in-line with the multi-media approach Microsoft is taking with its new system. We’ll have to see how both the show, and Microsoft’s media policy folds out.

Forza 5 Announced for Xbox One

Microsoft shows off its games lineup with its marquis racing title Forza 5. As if there were any doubt, the newest installment to one of the biggest racing franchises in gaming wouldn’t be making a debut for the Xbox One. Pretty cars, scenery porn, more cars, what else could you want? Expect more details from our coverage at E3.

The Next Xbox is the Xbox One

Microsoft revealed today their new fully functioning all in one Xbox console dubbed the Xbox One. This new console finally brings together Microsoft’s plan to integrate their cable like subscription service in to an actual cable box. For those looking for the luxury of intelligent TV, Microsoft seems to have it solved. Finally we are seeing a push for integration through Microsoft’s partners and their software. Phone integration, Comcast integration and gaming will come together in a Bluray driven console. [...]

Pushmasters Review – Fear the Cat Lady

There are a lot of games out there whose names offer you no help in determining what the gameplay is going to entail (I’m looking at you, Square Enix). In the case of Pushmasters, the whole premise of the game can be determined from the name: you are essentially pushing enemies the whole time. Pushmasters starts off by letting you choose one of five different levels. Each level offers a unique environment to push enemies off of. From here, you [...]

Splinter Cell: Blacklist Co-op Trailer Just Went to the Top of My Blacklist

2010′s Splinter Cell: Conviction was easily one of my favorite games of that year. Not only did it have a great story that showcased Sam Fisher’s new array of badass stealth mechanics, but it had one of the best co-op campaigns I had ever played. With Splinter Cell: Blacklist coming out this year, there’s even more to get excited about. Especially the return of the co-op story. The trailer above shows some intense and very fun segments dealing with sneaking in a guarded [...]

Metro: Last Light Review – Metro Prime

A popular sub-genre of video games in recent years deals with the subject matter of the apocalypse. Be it zombie, nuclear, or otherwise, the concept of survival amongst the rubble is narratively rich and has yielded some impressive games. One property to come out of this is the Metro series, based on a series of novels which take place in the labyrinth of Moscow’s underground metro system in the years after a nuclear holocaust. The premise here is that as the [...]

Brand New Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Debuts

Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. It’s Arc System Works’ 25th year in heavy metal action and to celebrate, the developers are delivering a brand new Guilty Gear game. Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- will be the newest entry into the veritable franchise, my favorite fighting game franchise. Interestingly enough the new ridiculously named title is being developed on the Unreal Engine of all things. And you know what? The game looks amazing. The trailer above shows off [...]

Batman: Arkham Origins Teaser Released – Batman Begins…Again

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. The latest installment in a popular series is going back to its roots, and taking us back to where it all began. Yawn. On the other hand, this is Batman we are talking about here so at the very least I’m intrigued. Today, Warner Bros. has released a teaser trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins. According to the press release, this game “introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events [...]
