E3 – IndieCade Round Up: Hands-On Preview

The IndieCade booth was so nice, I visited it twice. One of my biggest regrets about my time at E3 was that I wasn’t able to play all the games on display. Two of my absolute favorites came from this space, and my second visit yielded even more excellent titles. Here are three in particular that just blew my mind and made me giddy with pure video game delight.

E3 – The Walking Dead: 400 Days, 5 Stories, 1 New Trailer

The Walking Dead: 400 Days was officially announced at yesterday’s Sony press conference, but we weren’t given much in the way of details aside from an impending Vita release.  Today those details are coming in full force, along with a new trailer and some screenshots. 400 Days will tell the story of five previously unconnected individuals as they cope with and survive the world in the first 400 days following the zombie apocalypse. The five stories are playable in any order and [...]

New Deus Ex Goes Mobile

I loved everything about 2011′s action-RPG Deus Ex: Human Revolution; from the stealth mechanics to the way you could upgrade Adam and make him how you would want to adapt in the future. Obviously, I am not the only one who enjoyed it and it’s successful history as Square Enix announced today that a new title in the franchise named Deus Ex: The Fall will be available for mobile and tablet devices “soon”. Not a whole lot has been revealed in terms of gameplay [...]

Peter Molyneux And 22Cans’ Curiosity “Experiment” Comes To An End

After much hype, billions of cubes, and over 150 days Peter Molyneux and 22Cans’ experiment has officially come to close. I woke up this morning and found a bunch of tweets claiming that the Curiosity cube was nearing its end. A few minutes after that, all the cubes were destroyed and users were taken inside the cube where they could read all the tweets of people using the hashtag #whatsinsidethecube. I’ve always been pretty impressed with the ballsy way Molyneux [...]

Way of the Dogg Gameplay Trailer – Nothin’ But A QTE Thang

Summer is fast approaching. That means it’s time to roll down the windows, turn up the music, and get ready for the new Snoop Dogg….Lion….whatever game. Way of the Dogg is a rhythm-based fighting game in which you play as America Jones (which might be the best character name of the year), “the toughest street fighter in town”, who embarks on a path of revenge against the thugs who killed his girlfriend…or something. The gameplay trailer released today gives a [...]

Fish Out of Water Review – In-App Porpoises

I haven’t had too much time for big, expansive games as of late and instead have been using my small amounts of time here and there to absorb smaller games, mostly on my iPhone. Luckily, Halfbrick Studios has me covered. I didn’t know anything about Fish Out of Water before I purchased it. All it took was seeing that Halfbrick had released a new game to get me onto the App Store. Halfbrick have created most of the only iOS games to [...]

Idolm@ster Shiny Festa Out in English for iOS, Will Cost Arm and Leg

So awhile back Siliconera discovered a new trademark for a US version of the rhythm game Idolm@ster  Shiny Festa. It turns out now that those trademarks were correct but instead of the original PSP versions of the game, we will be getting them localized for iOS devices (4/S, 5, iPad). That’s not even the kicker! All three games are priced at $54.99 separately, and that’s not even including the DLC that seems to be planned. So if you want all three [...]

Jurassic Park: Builder Review – Spare No Expense

I’ve never understood Facebook games. They’ve always seemed more like sinkholes to either pour time or money into with little result. FarmVille, CityVille, pretty much any of those games that your friends are always bothering you to play with them seem entirely un-fun to me. But, let’s face it. They aren’t for me. Until now. Now there’s a Jurassic Park license involved. Now this game is for me.

[Review] Ridiculous Fishing – Gaze Into the Abyss and You’ll Find the Abyss Gazing Into You

How easy would it be for me to just say Vlambeer’s Ridiculous Fishing is the best fishing game I’ve ever played? Aside from some mini-games in titles such as Legend of Zelda or Deadly Premonition, I haven’t played any fishing games so it wouldn’t be hard at all. So what more then, could I say about Ridiculous Fishing besides the fact that it is indeed, the best fishing game I have ever played? Maybe I’ll just start from the beginning.

[Review] Temple Run: Oz – Flying Baboons and Crumbling Roads

The latest release by Imangi Studios and Disney Mobile is another Disney-fied version of their endless runner games, but this time it’s inspired by Temple Run: 2 and based on the newly-released Oz: The Great and Powerful. In this game, you play as The Wizard (called Oz), who is running from angry flying baboons, surely sent from the Wicked Witch. Following closely after the release of Temple Run 2, this title also has a slew of new features that hadn’t been developed [...]
