Anomaly 2 Review – On the Road Again

The premise of the Anomaly games is so simple that it’s a wonder it hadn’t been executed before. Anomaly: Warzone Earth took the  iOS staple of Tower Defense and turned it inside out; having you play as the attack force whose job is to maintain a constant onslaught and push through enemy defenses. Essentially, this game helped create a sub-genre on its own; Tower Offfense! Anomaly 2 takes place a number of years after the first title and even though [...]

Fishing Hero Impressions — Virtual Fishing for the Halibut

From G4Box and the interestingly named My New Children Inc., comes a new massive multiplayer online fishing game called Fishing Hero. This concept got some of us at the Twinfinite office very curious, so two of our writers set sail into the virtual blue yonder to give you their impressions of the game, letting you know whether or not Fishing Hero is worth looking into.

Batman: Arkham Origins Teaser Released – Batman Begins…Again

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. The latest installment in a popular series is going back to its roots, and taking us back to where it all began. Yawn. On the other hand, this is Batman we are talking about here so at the very least I’m intrigued. Today, Warner Bros. has released a teaser trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins. According to the press release, this game “introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events [...]

EA Does Away With Online Passes, Cites Player Feedback

Players spoke and EA (finally) decided to listen! EA’s use of online passes is a thing of the past, according to an interview with GamesBeat. John Reseburg, senior director of corporate communications at EA, announced via email that no future EA games will have content restricted by online passes. Online Passes were designed as a way to combat profits lost to the used game market. In the case of EA, online passes often locked features like access to online multiplayer modes behind [...]

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Gameplay Trailer – Exactly What You Think It Is

Assassin’s Creed is a series in which there are about a hundred reasons why I should be crazy about it, but it just doesn’t quite click with me. Thankfully for Ubisoft, my preferences don’t represent the majority of video game fans because every new one they churn out comes up solid gold. The latest installment, entitled Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, features a new character named Edward Kenway. Kenway is a member of the British Navy in the early 1800s, [...]

Payday 2 Releasing On Physical Copies In August

On paper, Payday: The Heist seemed like it would be the perfect opportunity for gamers to get a chance to live the Ocean’s 11 lifestyle and had us master criminal types at the Twinfinite office foaming at the mouth. Unfortunately (or fortunately for real life banks), we make the worst crack team of thieves ever.  Even more unfortunate were the confusing controls, extremely long missions, and the bland gameplay that plagued the finished product and left much to be desired. The sequel is slated to fix all [...]

Journey Beneath the Land of Ooo in the New Adventure Time Game

Pendleton Ward, D3 Publisher, WayForward Games, and Cartoon Network are once again uniting for a sequel to the 3DS game based on the hit animated series, Adventure Time, with yet another crazy awesome subtitle. Also, this time, the new Adventure Time game will be going multi-platform. Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW! will be making its debut on the WiiU, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Nintendo 3DS.

Ready, Set, Twerk! – Rush Bros. Coming to Steam May 24th

One of my favorite things to do is insinuate music I like into games. The format itself is designed to provide a singular experience to every player, so the addition of music only accentuates that. Games like Audiosurf allow you to integrate gameplay with your iTunes library, creating an endlessly replayable experience that is adjustable depending on whatever is coming up on your playlist. With the upcoming Rush Bros., XYLA Entertainment has taken this concept and thrown it into a [...]

Let’s Play: Mass Effect Trilogy ME2 Insanity Mordin Roundup!

Welcome back!  In this EXCITING update for Let’s Play Mass Effect Trilogy, I head out to recruit Mordin.  Mordin is just an absolutely fantastic character (maybe my favorite squadmate), and his recruitment mission is certainly not a pushover on Insanity.  The room right before the clinic takes a very long time, and the final room with the fans is like a ten minute long combat section.  If you die you have to start it over from the top!  I did mention [...]

The Greatest of a Generation

With the PS4, Ouya and Xbox whatever on the horizon, the excitement, energy and emotion is starting to froth back up among gamers. We have the next generation already here with the Wii U, so everybody around the office felt its time to get reminiscent. It istime to look back at the best of the generation. This was like pulling teeth to get everybody to choose that one and only defining piece, but finally we all settled on the games that [...]
