Dungeon Hearts LTTP Review – Carpal Tunnel Crawler

The sweet spot of game design is being able to tap into that part of the brain where instant gratification meets compulsion to push forward. It is this simple, yet delicate, balance that is right in the wheelhouse of puzzle games, particularly those on mobile devices. Games with easy-to-pick-up mechanics like Bejeweled, Peggle, or even Tetris are accessible to anyone, but provide endless challenge and replayability once they get you hooked. Bejeweled in particular is an example of a ‘Match [...]

Mirror’s Edge 2 Mysteriously Appears on Amazon

Are the end times near? Is there finally justice in the world? Am I finally getting a game I want for a change? Possibly. Whether by accident or not, Mirror’s Edge 2 floated onto the German version of Amazon today, available for pre-order for the scarily high price of just under 100 Euros.   A clumsy mistake by some butterfingered Amazon employees? Or an ambitious prank by some fans of the greatest first-person parkour action adventure shooter platform puzzler elevator [...]

During yesterday’s Xbox One reveal, Remedy’s next project, Quantum Break, was announced and given a trailer. Today, Remedy’s creative director Sam Lake released a video addressing fans on exactly what the developer’s new IP means for the Alan Wake saga. In the video, Lake addresses the challenges facing Alan Wake 2. Though the franchise has now sold more than 3 million copies and become somewhat of a cult hit, original sales figures were not as promising. According to Lake, “Even though we [...]

Splinter Cell: Blacklist Co-op Trailer Just Went to the Top of My Blacklist

2010′s Splinter Cell: Conviction was easily one of my favorite games of that year. Not only did it have a great story that showcased Sam Fisher’s new array of badass stealth mechanics, but it had one of the best co-op campaigns I had ever played. With Splinter Cell: Blacklist coming out this year, there’s even more to get excited about. Especially the return of the co-op story. The trailer above shows some intense and very fun segments dealing with sneaking in a guarded [...]

Metro: Last Light Review – Metro Prime

A popular sub-genre of video games in recent years deals with the subject matter of the apocalypse. Be it zombie, nuclear, or otherwise, the concept of survival amongst the rubble is narratively rich and has yielded some impressive games. One property to come out of this is the Metro series, based on a series of novels which take place in the labyrinth of Moscow’s underground metro system in the years after a nuclear holocaust. The premise here is that as the [...]

Anomaly 2 Review – On the Road Again

The premise of the Anomaly games is so simple that it’s a wonder it hadn’t been executed before. Anomaly: Warzone Earth took the  iOS staple of Tower Defense and turned it inside out; having you play as the attack force whose job is to maintain a constant onslaught and push through enemy defenses. Essentially, this game helped create a sub-genre on its own; Tower Offfense! Anomaly 2 takes place a number of years after the first title and even though [...]

Fishing Hero Impressions — Virtual Fishing for the Halibut

From G4Box and the interestingly named My New Children Inc., comes a new massive multiplayer online fishing game called Fishing Hero. This concept got some of us at the Twinfinite office very curious, so two of our writers set sail into the virtual blue yonder to give you their impressions of the game, letting you know whether or not Fishing Hero is worth looking into.

Batman: Arkham Origins Teaser Released – Batman Begins…Again

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. The latest installment in a popular series is going back to its roots, and taking us back to where it all began. Yawn. On the other hand, this is Batman we are talking about here so at the very least I’m intrigued. Today, Warner Bros. has released a teaser trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins. According to the press release, this game “introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events [...]
