Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth Shows Off Attacks in New Trailers

Atlus Japan has released another two trailers on their YouTube channel for their upcoming 3DS title, Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth. This time, they’re showing off some new battle mechanics that will be implemented in the combat system. First up, it looks like the exploitation of your enemies’ weaknesses is going to be a much more important and strategic move in this entry. In Persona 3 and 4, players would get an additional turn whenever you struck an enemy’s [...]

Earthbound Lives in This New Citizens of Earth Teaser

After a failed Kickstarter campaign, the RPG adventure Citizens of Earth was fortunate enough to be picked up by publisher Atlus to help bring it to the world successfully. Since then, the game has come along very nicely, and its latest teaser trailers shows its heavy influences from the Nintendo’s classic Earthbound more than ever. Instead of a child imbued with psychokinetic abilities, however, Citizens of Earth has you playing as Vice President of the World, recruiting various citizens to [...]

Atlus Sent Me Another Email About Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars

Yadda, yadda, Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars got an unboxing video. You can watch that above. The real thing I want to talk about here is why I’ve received an email from Atlus about Conception II every single day for what seems like centuries. I think they devoted each day to a character in the game. Atlus is going HAM on this game’s marketing; they need an award for raising awareness. Has anyone else had this happen to [...]

ESRB Reveals Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 for PlayStation 3

The Entertainment Software Rating Board has posted an interesting little entry that may have confirmed what many have been anticipating for some time now. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 has appeared under the ESRB ratings for the PlayStation 3 platform. Recently, Persona 4 received an enhanced remake in Persona 4 Golden for the PlayStation Vita, but this ESRB entry raises some questions about whether or not a feature is on the way allowing the PlayStation 3 to run PlayStation 2 [...]

Conception II Preview – That’s Not How You Make Babies

The Conception II demo popped up on the North American eShop and PSN markets this week and since Europe is sitting out, I figured a preview was in order for those waiting patiently. The demo was a short one; not even an hour long, but it showed off many of the critical elements Spike Chunsoft is looking to deliver. Conception II is basically a dating sim that has been blended into a JRPG. The idea of which is to craft [...]

Two New Conception II Character Trailers Released

Atlus has released a couple of new character trailers for the upcoming Vita/3DS game Conception II: Children of the Seven Starts and they’re… very anime. The two trailers introduce students Serina and Narika, who couldn’t be more opposite. Serina is a 3rd year student who fills that agressive anime archtype. Oh, and her weapon is a laser gun attached to her leg. Like that girl from Grindhouse, only foreseeable more anime. The second introduced character is 2nd year Vice President Narika, who [...]

Daylight Steam Page Is up to Scare the Piss out of You

There’s something about all abandoned hospitals that make them pants-shittingly terrifying. Daylight, a procedurally generated psychological thriller from developer Zombie Studios, taps into that fear. The only source of light and guidance is the phone in your hand and whatever torches you can find. A cacophony of disembodied voices call to you; either to help or hinder you remains to be seen. Daylight‘s Steam page is up right now and pre-ordering the game nets you a 33% discount and the soundtrack. [...]

Twinfinite EP – The Music of Demon’s Souls Creates a Unique Nightmare

[Twinfinite's Endless Playlist counts down to Dark Souls II with the music of Demon's Souls] I always wondered why they replaced Shunsuke Kida, the composer for the music on Demon’s Souls, with Motoi Sakuraba. Having gone online I see that Kida hasn’t done any video game projects in the last three years, which might be the reason for the replacement. Still, I found his work on Demon’s Souls much more enjoyable on its own than Sakuraba’s work on its spiritual sequel, [...]

Abyss Odyssey Details Released

The folks over at Atlus announced today that they are publishing an indie game called Abyss Odyssey from ACE Team for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. This will be ACE Team’s third game, following Rock of Ages and Zeno Clash. Abyss Odyssey is an procedurally generated side-scroller filled to the brim with action. Since the levels are procedurally generated, no level is the same every time you play it. You’ll be given the choice between three warriors to enter the abyss and venture into the [...]
