[News] New Dragon’s Crown Trailer

A new trailer was recently released for the side-scrolling Atlus adventure “Dragon’s Crown”. Along with a quick look at the character designs, the trailer gives us some more in-game footage of how the combat will work. In addition to the trailer, they also seem to have updated their global site, providing more information about the 2d gameplay and adding some more screenshots of the amazing artwork for us to drool over. Real talk? Despite the over-the-top character designs (hilariously the [...]

[News] Soul Hackers is Coming to North America

The Shin Megami Tensei series has become fairly popular here in the west after many years of lying in the super niche realm of gaming.  Those years led to a few unfortunate skips in localization, but thankfully Atlus seems to want to rectify that through rerelease.  One title that came out during the Sega Saturn years was Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers and it is actually the second in the Devil Summoner series. The 3DS port that was [...]

[News] Anime News Round-Up

There was a lot of anime news this past week. So much so that rather than do one for each, I thought it more economical (read: lazy) to bundle them up together so that you’ll have your one stop anime news post. Hit the jump for this week’s new releases, announcement news, and random extras.

[News] Persona Games are 50% Off On PSN

Many people recently have picked up their copies of Persona 4 Arena only to look back in wonder about the other games in the series.  Collecting the other titles in the franchise however is quite expensive. Well, it looks like Atlus is looking to throw you all another bone.  In a move similar to Atlus’ summer super sale, all Persona titles are now half off. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona (now: $9.99 original price: $19.99) Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2: Innocent [...]

[Review] Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time

Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time is a game reminiscent of classic JRPGs from the PS1 era. At one time it was such a big project for Atlus to take that they decided it wouldn’t be deemed worth translating. Now, nearly a decade after its release in Japan, the west finally gets to play what many consider to be one of the best games in a great series. Yes, it has come out in the last year of a consoles life. Like [...]

[Review] Persona 4: Arena

Video game series tend to never stray from their initial genre. Call of Duty will always be a shooter, Street Fighter always a fighter. Yet, Persona has done the unthinkable. In a complete change of heart, this famous franchise has gone from JRPG powerhouse to furious fighter. Was this change for the better, or was Atlus better off keeping its classic series to itself? Read on after the jump to find out

[News] Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time Gets a Launch Trailer

With the July 31st launch date fast approaching, Atlus has put together a new trailer for their remake of Growlanser IV.  For those not familiar with the series, it is a long running Strategy RPG series from Atlus that has received only 2 releases in America.  Growlanser Generations was brought over by Working Designs and Growlanser: Heritage of War was eventually brought by Atlus. Unfortunately sales in America have been timid for the series which makes this one of the [...]

[News] Atlus is Having a PSN Sale

Let’s get something straight.  If for some reason you don’t find this sale to be worth your cup of tea, I need to set you straight.  Right now on PSN you can get all of the excellent STING PSP games for under $20.  All of them, and they are oh so good.  I personally prefer the amazingly underrated SRPG Yggdra Union, but Riviera the Promised Land with it’s dating-sim/visual novel/JRPG mechanics is also well worth a buy. Still not satisfied [...]

[News] Code of Princess Gets Trailer

Remember Code of Princess? That Japanese 3DS brawler I didn’t think was going to come out for the West until Atlus USA decided “Yeah sure, let’s do it!”? Well today Atlus has posted an official trailer showing off Code of Princess’ many features including online co-op, PvP, customizable characters, and over fifty playable characters to choose from. The game is certainly shaping up to be a must have for any 3DS owner (who likes scantily clad princesses). Artist Nishimura Kinu [...]
