Martin O’Donnell Ousted From Bungie “Without Cause”

This is some shocking news; Martin O’Donnell, longtime in-house composer of Bungie Studios, the creators of Halo and the upcoming Destiny, has been let go from the developer after a 13 year stint. Its not just that he was let go, however; to hear O’Donnell state it, it sounds like he was forced out. Taking to Twitter today to announce the departure, O’Donnell said “I’m saddened to say that Bungie’s board of directors terminated me without cause on April 11, 2014.” [...]

Shrike: Your Faithful Steed in Destiny

Bungie has revealed the transport that will be used by players in their highly anticipated title, Destiny. The Strike will be a standard issue vehicle for all Guardians and serve as their means of transportation on the planet surface to be summoned at any moment. Tom Doyle, Bungie’s Art Lead on Destiny, stated “Getting from point A to point B should be fun… not a menu option.” While details are scarce, Doyle confirms that the vehicle will upgrade as the player [...]

Halo Vet Returns to Microsoft After Working on Destiny

Joseph Staten, former Bungie employee, returns to Halo after being the design director and writer for Destiny. The news broke from Xbox Studio Manager Mike Ybarra (Qwik) via Twitter: Thrilled to welcome back Joe Staten to the Microsoft Studios family. #XboxOne — Mike Ybarra (@XboxQwik) January 9, 2014 Joseph Staten is back at Microsoft working on an undisclosed project. It’s unfortunate that he’s not working on the next Halo having worked on Halo since the beginning at Bungie. A Microsoft [...]

Bungie announces release date for Destiny

Bungie has finally announced the release date for their highly anticipated title, Destiny. Bungie’s official statement can be read below. “There should be a stage in every product where the ludicrous is thought possible, where the team blazes trails right to the edge of the abyss in a hundred directions. Only through great risks are great things truly achieved.  Destiny has always represented a new beginning for our team. It was born from brave possibilities. We dreamed of a renewed [...]

More details on Destiny unveiled, competitive multiplayer still a mystery

In a recent sit down with Bungie’s Head of Art Dave Dunn, IGN pulled queries from their community asking the developer about their latest IP, Destiny. Questions ranged from classes in Destiny, their in-game currency system, and exploration. There was also a question regarding the competitive multiplayer, specifically whether drive-able vehicles would make their way into the playlist. “All of us at Bungie love player driven vehicles, as you can see from the two we had revealed so far, the [...]

Keep an Eye Out for Destiny Beta Codes!

A few weeks back, Bungie notified its fans that those who pre-ordered Destiny would be eligible to take part in beta-testing it. Last night, Bungie let the cat out of the bag and told its fans via Facebook that they will be randomly posting beta codes each day this week on Facebook and Twitter.

Halo 3 Now Free For Xbox Live Gold Members

Starting today, Halo 3 is free to download for Xbox Live Gold members. Halo 3, along with Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes, are the latest free games offered via Microsoft’s Games With Gold program, which has been putting out 2 free games a month from this past July through December 2013. While I personally think it’s the weakest game in the series, getting a game that’s usually priced at $15 for free is nothing to turn your nose up [...]

Shootylicious – Destiny Going to Beta in 2014

One of the most anticipated games as we transition into the next console generation is Destiny by Bungie. While we are still waiting on an official release date (TBA 2014 is all we know thus far), there have been leaks that it will be going into beta in early 2013. Well, it has been confirmed today by the developers themselves. The basics of this beta are that anybody who preorders Destiny for XBox 360, XBox One, PS3, and PS4 through [...]

Halo: Initiation #1 – The Sarah Palmer Chronicles

When I reviewed Halo 4 a few months ago, one of the major positives of the game was 343′s focus on improving the storytelling aspect of Halo 4 as compared to the previous Bungie developed games. Instead of the unstoppable armored engine of destruction Master Chief was portrayed as in the original trilogy, Halo 4 showed that while he was still a one man army in the field, he was also a human under all that armor. Another character that straddled [...]

Hi everyone. Sometimes I just want to go on top of a mountain and shout to the world my love for you, but alas, it is not possible. Anyway, this week we’ve got a loaded cast. Look for the review on the site! Thanks for listening, as always, [...]
