No Objections Here – Ace Attorney Dual Destinies Confirmed for US Release

Good news for all the ladies, gentlemen, and courtroom aficionados out there! Earlier today, Capcom confirmed the Western release of the new installment in the Ace Attorney Franchise: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies, commonly referred to as Ace Attorney 5. In an interesting move by Capcom, the game was announced for digital sale. This is more than likely a result of the franchise having low sales overall in the US, which was precisely why the second installment of Ace Attorney: Investigations never saw a [...]

Remember Me Trailer Released – Memories of the Way We Whirr

In the mood for a cyberpunk-themed action adventure? You only have just over a month to wait until Capcom’s Remember Me launches and scratches that itch. The game is set in Neo-Paris of 2084 and centers around the use, misuse, and manipulation of memories as a central mechanic. Much like how last year’s Dishonored called back to a number of influences, Remember Me‘s theme and style evokes *ahem* memories of other titles such as Deus Ex, The Matrix, and the [...]

Capcom To Focus On Developing Internally After Posting “Special Loss”

Capcom has revised their earning forecast for the last fiscal year, announcing that they will be posting a “special loss” of 7.2 billion yen (over $73 million). They are attributing this loss to a combination of factors, namely: failing to properly market their recent games, a “decline in quality due to excessive outsourcing”, and cancelling games that were outsourced to overseas companies. In the future, they will be developing more games in-house. Despite the loss, Capcom is reporting a net [...]

[Review] Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate – Damn It Feels Good To Be A Hunter

If there is a game out there that really embodies the spirit of what it means to be a true hardcore gamer, the answer is most arguably Monster Hunter. This long-running series straight from the bowels of Japan gave the casual gamer something to fear and the average gamer something to aspire to. There is no leveling up as you have to truly earn your stats by killing and skinning various scaled creatures and forge armor and distinct weapons out of [...]

[Review] Darkstalkers: Resurrection — Back Like Tupac

When you’re in the mood to battle werewolves, succubae, cat-women, fish people, or Little Red Riding Hood, look no further than Darkstalkers: Resurrection. Capcom brings two 2-D fighters, Night Warriors: Darkstalkers’ Revenge and Darkstalkers 3, both released in Arcades and then Sega Saturn and PlayStation 1, respectively, to the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. This Capcom fighter has often been overshadowed by Street Fighter, which has been given a superfluous amount of iterations and the 2.5-D treatment on more than [...]

[News] Capcom Announces New IP

In a reign of fire and dragons, Capcom announces its new IP with the working title of Deep Down. If it could be compared, I’d say it looks a lot like Dragon’s Dogma. There wasn’t any gameplay footage shown, but we do know it’s going to run on the Panta Rhei engine for the PS4 and feature dragon fighting.

[News] Hurt An Opponent With Victor’s Butt March 12th

So Darkstalkers Resurrection is coming. March 12th in fact. That seems like as good of a day as any to fight with the undead. For those who haven’t been keeping up. Darkstalkers Resurrection is Darkstalkers 3 and Night Warriors: Darkstalkers Revenge emulated, cleaned up and offering online play similar to Street Fighter 3: Online and Marvel Super Heroes Origins. For those not up to date on the numbering in the franchise, Night Warriors is the 2nd Darkstalkers title and Darkstalkers [...]

[News] Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen Expansion — My Body is Finally Ready

Capcom’s 2012 action-RPG Dragon’s Dogma will be given a massive expansion this April 23rd in North America and April 26th in Europe. Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will include all content from the original game with new locations such as a huge underground realm and a place called Bitterblack Isle, rife with new enemies and challenges. For newcomers to the series, you’ll be glad to know this will all be available for just $39.99. There will be rewards for veterans though, [...]

[Review] Super Street Fighter Volume 1: New Generation

Udon Entertainment has been working on the Street Fighter series for years now and they’ve finally begun venturing outside of Street Fighter 2. With Super Street Fighter, we begin to see the series move forward and tackle the Street Fighter 3 and 4 era which is quite a departure from their predecessors.  With this being the first hardcover in the series, I’m hoping the thicker skin made for a solid read.
