Leak: Deus Ex: The Fall Coming to Steam [Update]

I guess you can chalk this up to a rumor but I have a pretty good feeling about this one. The spinoff to the critically acclaimed reboot, Deux Ex: Human Revolution, Deus Ex: The Fall was a hotly anticipated title, until it was announced as a mobile phone exclusive. At which point, some enthusiasm left he room, drove to the nearest airport and flew off to wait for a proper console sequel I guess. So if this post by NeoGAF [...]

Enroll in “Thieving 101″ with New Thief Trailer

One does not simply become a Master Thief. Presumably it takes years of training and practice to ascend to that rank. But you can start by enrolling in “Thieving 101,” an in-depth look at Square Enix’s upcoming Thief. Developed by Eidos Montreal, Thief is a soft reboot of the popular PC stealth franchise. Scheduled for release on February 25 of this year, Thief will be available on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The newest 6-minute “trailer” introduces [...]

Video Game Vacation Destinations

So long suckers, I’m on holidays! After four long years of working full-time, finishing my Master’s in Library Studies, becoming a parent, and helping out around the Twinfinite office, I am going to Disney World, and then onto a Caribbean cruise. Naturally, I’d never forget about you lovely people who read my stuff. I figured what better topic to cover than vacation destinations from video games that I’d love to check out. One omission you may see is Rook Islands [...]

Eidos Montreal General Manager Resigns After Lack of Leadership with Square Enix

I prefer not to play industry analyst so let’s just rack this post up with good ol’ schadenfreude. It seems that Eidos Montreal founder and general manager Stephane D’Astous has resigned from the company last Friday. In a statement he released detailing his departure, he cites problems with Eidos’ parent company Square-Enix. Since last year’s financial short-coming performance of Square Enix Europe, we (HQ London and GM Eidos Montreal) have had growing and divergent opinions on what needed to be [...]

E3 – Thief Hands-Off Preview

Eidos Montreal is the studio that brought Deus Ex into the current generation of gaming with Human Revolution. As a follow up, their next big project is to do the same thing to the classic Thief series. This is the fourth game in the franchise (it was actually previously to be called Thief 4 but they dropped the number at some point), and it takes place in a medieval/steampunk world in which you play as master thief Garrett. The objectives [...]

[Rant] Scale It Back: Why Open-World Games Are So ‘Last Gen’

Tyler, Trey, and I were sitting around Twinfinite HQ the other day, talking about Hitman: Absolution. Specifically, we were discussing the way we each like to play games which allow for customized styles. Tyler, being a sneaky backstabbing type, prefers the ‘silent assassin’ method of slipping in and out without being detected. Trey, on the other hand, approaches missions like they’re an opportunity to live out his fantasy of reenacting the warehouse scene from RoboCop. Personally, I’m more a fan [...]

[Featurama] Deus Ex Human Revolution Pacifist Guide Part 2

We are back with another instalment of the Deus Ex Human Revolution guide to the Pacifist achievement. Speed is of the essence in this video as running through each section as fast as shown in the video allows you to skip dialogue of guards and even skip some of their longer more complicated patrol patterns. The first set of guards you encounter is troublesome at times as they are the first and some of the only random guards in [...]

[Featurama] Deus Ex Human Revolution Pacifist Guide Part 1

Be it for E-Penis, gamer-score, pride or just the challenge, Deus Ex: Human Revolution has an achievement called Pacifism, completing the game without killing anyone with the exception of the games incredibly difficult bosses. What better way to introduce myself to this beautiful website than to throw up a walk-through of one of my favourite games in recent years? With that said, let’s get started with the first stealth section of the intro sequence.
