Ten Disney Classics That Need a Remastering

The Walt Disney Company has been moving to get directly involved in the video games industry for a number of years now. This idea moved them to acquire Warren Spector’s talents for their Epic Mickey reboot and push heavily in to the mobile and online sphere of gaming.  While the success of these new ventures have been hit and miss, it finally seems like Disney has settled down and decided to invest in what they do best; they’ve decided to [...]

Disney Closes Publisher LucasArts

GameInformer is reporting Disney has closed their publisher LucasArts. The official statement from Disney (which recently acquired LucasFilm and LucasArts) reads as follows: “After evaluating our position in the games market, we’ve decided to shift LucasArts from an internal development to a licensing model, minimizing the company’s risk while achieving a broader portfolio of quality Star Wars games. As a result of this change, we’ve had layoffs across the organization. We are incredibly appreciative and proud of the talented teams who have been [...]

[News] Disney Mobile releases new free game: Where’s My Valentine?

Fans of Swampy and/or Perry may be delighted to know that Disney Mobile have released a brand new, free app for both iOS and Android called Where’s My Valentine? Where’s My Valentine? features 12 fresh, love-themed levels for everyone to enjoy. There are six levels for Swampy and then another six for Perry, with the option of buying the full version for more whenever you like. Though kind of short, the free version still offers a cute nugget for being [...]

[News] Junction Point Studios is officially closed down

Update: also confirmed – following the end of Junction Point, Warren Spector will not be sticking with Disney. After seeing a few rumors here and there, I am disappointed to report that Junction Point Studios has officially shut down, according to a confirmation by the Polygon team. You should know Junction Point as the developer of Epic Mickey and the more recent entry, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. Apparently, sales for the later game were incredibly poor, which [...]

[News] Disney Infinity looks awesome, is slated for release in June

Just in case you’ve been hearing all the buzz regarding Disney Infinity but still don’t have an idea of what all the fuss is about, I’m here to report that it is a thing. It is a glorious thing featuring Disney and Pixar characters, in which you get to choose your own adventures, explore any of the characters’ worlds (called Play Sets), and buy real toys to further interact with the game a-la Skylanders. Disney Infinity is going to be [...]

[RIP PS2] In Simpler Days: Kingdom Hearts

[The PS2 is now officially discontinued! We wanted to give this mighty system a proper farewell so we're dedicating an entire week to it.] Who would have predicted the brilliance of infusing a Japanese role-playing game with Disney characters? Well, Squaresoft did, and the product is still one of my favorite games from the days of the PlayStation 2. Soon, an entire series would emerge only getting more complicated with every entry, but in the beginning, things were much simpler, [...]

[News] Disney Releases Three New Games For iOS And Android

For those of you who enjoy addictive mobile games, Disney Mobile has released not one, but three titles to both the App Store and Google Play. The titles are Monster’s Inc. Run, Where’s My Holiday?, and Nemo’s Reef. Monster’s Inc. Run is the only one of the three which isn’t free. It’s developed by Get Set and is only available for iOS at this time for US$0.99. In Run, you get to, well, run. The good news is that everyone [...]

[PAX] Some Time With Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two

For those of you who played the first Epic Mickey, the sequel will be very familiar. Introduced by Warren Spector in 2010, Epic Mickey was designed as both a love letter to Disney animation and a showcase for some of the creative functions of the Wii system. Two years have passed and the game has gone multi-platform but I was assured that all versions on the console system were equal in terms of scope and creativity. Hit the jump for [...]

[News] Wreck-it Ralph Looks Awesome

Welp, I know what I’m going to be doing on November 2nd.  I will be sitting in a theater with a huge grin on my face watching a cartoon version of Zanghief talking to a support group consisting of Bowser, Clyde and Robotnik. Video games have yet to really hit inside film.  Sure, there have been plenty of video game movies, but nothing that really utilized the creative medium.  Lara Croft was kinda good, but none of us went to [...]

[Rumor] Avengers vs X-Men Plot Points Spoiled by Assface

We at Twinfinite have been looking forward to the Avengers vs X-Men crossover event for a long time.  Earlier today, while perusing the interwebz, I stumbled upon something that made me want to invent the mind-eraser pen from Men in Black just to use it on myself. One of the Marvel letterers, who had to be let go because Disney is forcing Marvel to scale back, decided to give a big middle fingered salute to both Marvel and Disney by posting four [...]
