Capcom To Focus On Developing Internally After Posting “Special Loss”

Capcom has revised their earning forecast for the last fiscal year, announcing that they will be posting a “special loss” of 7.2 billion yen (over $73 million). They are attributing this loss to a combination of factors, namely: failing to properly market their recent games, a “decline in quality due to excessive outsourcing”, and cancelling games that were outsourced to overseas companies. After being turned away and denied tickets to go see Resident Evil 6, we figured, “Why not see DMC.” So we did just that. I’m a newcomer to the series, so I didn’t really know what to expect. What I got certainly didn’t disappoint, but it also didn’t blow me away either. For the most part, I’ll talk about the mechanics, and how I felt about them, and what I saw from the sidelines while we had to make a [...]

[E3] Capcom’s Offerings for This Year’s E3

Capcom has shown up at E3 with all of their big guns. Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, and Lost Planet have all come out and look to be superior sequels to their most recent predecessors. Below the jump are the trailers and gameplay demos for Resident Evil 6, DmC, and Lost Planet 3. The “6″ in Resident Evil 6 still looks like an obscene action but I’ve grown to accept it. So hit the jump for Capcom’s E3 lineup.
