[E3] Everything We Did Wrong

It was Twinfinite’s first E3 this year, as well as our first covering anything big in the video game industry. We’ve only been around for eight months now and we really don’t know what the hell we’re doing half the time. This is of course tripled when we’re thrown into one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) gaming expositions and have to run around covering it for the site. Needless to say, we fucked up. A lot. This is [...]

[Featurama] The Best Games of E3 2012

E3 2012 is now officially over.  Developers are on their way back to work.  Their roadies are still around cleaning, but for the most part everyone is done with E3 for another year.  It’s now time to sit back and judge E3 for what it was this year. It’s time to look at the games. Lots of new titles were revealed. Some were mentioned off the cuff while others had massive billboards showcasing the spectacle that is this game.  While [...]

[E3] Metro: Last Light Emerges From the Darkness

Metro: 2033 will never win any points for its originality. 4A Games’ subterranean shooter wore its influences on its sleeve: Equal parts Fallout, STALKER, and Doom 3. What it did bring to the table however was a game that had great shooting mechanics, terrifying enemies, and one of the more immersive game worlds I’ve visited in a long time. This week at E3 Metro: Last Light, 4A Games’ follow-up, is being shown. Huw Beynon, 4A’s Head of Studio Communications, spoke [...]

[E3] Geek Out: Day Two, Best Day Ever

Day One, Day Three, Day Four Day two was the best day ever. More sleep, more coverage, and less being late. Well, except for Nintendo’s press conference. But I met Hideo Kojima, so who cares. I may have made a fool of myself in my nervous state and called him sensei instead of san. Like as if I were some game designer learning under his belt, what the hell. He turned around like, “yeah that’s about right” though so it [...]

[E3] Fire Emblem Awakening Coming Stateside

I choose not to understand Nintendo’s policy on which games to show off at public events. First Platinum Games’ Wii U title and now the secret revelation that the 3DS Fire Emblem title, Fire Emblem: Awakening, will be coming to the United States localized. This news is not completely unexpected as the domain for the game was registered and the game has been rumored for localization among netizens. Still, it’s nice to have an official confirmation so that we can [...]

[E3] Gameplay Footage of Hitman: Absolution

After a long, long break between titles, the Hitman series is almost back. Hitman: Absolution is on display at E3, and it’s looking like it’s just about ready for release. Last week’s trailer stirred up a bit of controversy with its representation of the female assassins (which, admittedly was a bad move on Square/Enix’s part) and concerns that the gameplay would be ‘dumbed down’ to reflect more casual tastes. Based on current gameplay footage however, it appears as hardcore as [...]

[E3] ArmA III is on the Show Floor at E3

E3 is a venue not exactly known for its attention to PC gamers; as years have gone by it has become a decidedly console-centered event. However, one of PC gaming’s most anticipated and hardcore titles is on display on the show floor: ArmA III. Its predecessor is currently the reigning champion when it comes to military simulators with its small but thriving community, as well as its incredible replayability via modding. While ArmA III is still technically in Alpha, Bohemia Interactive is demonstrating a [...]

[E3] Nintendo Drops Wii U, Shows Off Games, Causes Joy and Confusion

So Nintendo has officially unveiled the Wii U. Unlike last year where we simply saw a model of the system and some tech demos, we have games to finally see what the system is capable of. From the footage below the Wii U seems to be able to keep up graphically with its competitors but the fact that a majority of the games shown off are ports does very little to raise excitement for the system. Hit the jump for [...]
