Stock Up On Square-Enix Games With a Steam Sale This Weekend

For one reason or another, almost the entirety of Square-Enix’s library of games is discounted up to 75% off on Steam this weekend in a special promotion. (There’s more on sale than what’s listed on that page.) Oh boy! So whether you were aiming to finally pick up the PC version of Final Fantasy VIII or you just wanted to get caught up on the craze that is Tomb Raider, this weekend is the weekend to do so. It’s also worth pointing out that [...]

A New Thief Trailer Appears

A new Thief trailer is out for the world to consume, and it certainly is looking rather in vain with what we know of the series. That’s a good thing. In a world with Assassin’s Creed, Metal Gear Solid, and Splinter Cell games running amok, it really is good to see a classic come into its the current generation. I don’t know why, but of all the things in the game, I’m most excited to try out the candle snuffing [...]

Be sure to stick around to the end to find out what we officially know about the upcoming Zelda title for the Wii U, and to provide some of your own insight to Microsoft’s business tactics.

Eidos Montreal General Manager Resigns After Lack of Leadership with Square Enix

I prefer not to play industry analyst so let’s just rack this post up with good ol’ schadenfreude. It seems that Eidos Montreal founder and general manager Stephane D’Astous has resigned from the company last Friday. In a statement he released detailing his departure, he cites problems with Eidos’ parent company Square-Enix. Since last year’s financial short-coming performance of Square Enix Europe, we (HQ London and GM Eidos Montreal) have had growing and divergent opinions on what needed to be [...]

Tomb Raider – Good Game, Horrible Prequel

I think Tomb Raider 2 was the first game I ever played. It was either that or Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee, but being the (slightly) less scary of the two, it was Tomb Raider that stuck around. We were a great team, Lara and me, and I’d spend hours sitting on the floor in front of the TV, the cogs and gears inside my infantile mind ticking away while solving the puzzles. Lara was a pretty great companion for a kid [...]

[News] Tomb Raider’s multiplayer sneak peek

Remember the announcement revealing that Tomb Raider, an upcoming 2013 release, will have multiplayer? PC Gamer released details and footage today of the multiplayer side of the game, which is being developed by Eidos Montreal (devs of Deus Ex: Human Revolution). The footage reveals a traditional arena-based deathmatch with the addition of “surivival elements”, according to a dev. Players will be able to set traps, booby trap ammo boxes, and climb walls as they run and gun or snipe with a [...]

[News] Tomb Raider Will Have Multiplayer

PC Gamer announced today that its upcoming game Tomb Raider will have a multiplayer component. This is a big change of pace from the past Tomb Raider games, which were purely single-player. Crystal Dynamics will be outsourcing the multiplayer project to Eidos Montreal, the team behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution (which didn’t have a multiplayer mode, by the way). Nothing is known right now of what the multiplayer mode will entail. Will it be a pleasant surprise or an unwelcome disaster?

[LTTP Review] Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Deus Ex: Human Revolution had a lot to live up to on its release as the modern prequel to a classic among PC gamers, Deus Ex. Its predecessor is still fondly remembered as one of the greatest PC games of all time, praised for its freedom in accomplishing objectives, the complexity of its story, and blending of RPG, stealth, and shooter elements that was revolutionary at the time. Fortunately, its successor does not sacrifice any of these things for a [...]

[Featurama] Deus Ex Human Revolution Pacifist Guide Part 1

[youtube width="500" height="366"][/youtube] Be it for E-Penis, gamer-score, pride or just the challenge, Deus Ex: Human Revolution has an achievement called Pacifism, completing the game without killing anyone with the exception of the games incredibly difficult bosses. What better way to introduce myself to this beautiful website than to throw up a walk-through of one of my favourite games in recent years? With that said, let’s get started with the first stealth section of the intro sequence.
