Take a Year Walk This New Year’s Eve

The New Year is upon us. I don’t know where you live, but here in New York it’s cold, and windy. There’s a dusting of snow on the ground. I’ve never liked New Year’s. It’s partially because my birthday so nearly coincides with it. I turned 25 yesterday, which I’m none too thrilled about. It’s New Year’s Eve, and I’m another year older. Tonight is a time for celebrating: friends and family, champagne, a kiss at midnight. But for me [...]

Why “Game of the Year” is Bullshit

It’s that “Game of the Year” time again, and you know what that means: games that were generally well-received months ago will now be scrutinized within an inch of their virtual lives and found lacking. It happens every year, and this is why GotY is bullshit. I remember in 2011 when Skyrim, which had largely favorable reviews at release in November, was a terrible game come late December. Don’t get me wrong, Skyrim is not flawless, nor was it my [...]

Twinfinite’s Official 2013 Game of the Year

If you notice, we had a lot of differing top 5 lists all this week counting down to this moment. We wanted to have a special, Twinfinite-wide game of the year that we all voted on so we, too, could take part in the award ceremonies that every gaming site is doing around this time. We narrowed down from about 10 games to three: Super Mario 3D World, BioShock Infinite, and The Last of Us. We were pretty much deadlocked, [...]

Twinfinite Staff’s Top 5 Games of the Year List – Tuesday Edition!

Welcome to the Twinfinite Tuesday Crew’s Top 5 GOTY list for 2013. Our staff has pretty diverse tastes, and 2013 is no exception. We’d love to hear what your favorites this year were, so leave a comment. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy!

Twinfinite Staff’s Top 5 Games of the Year List – Mike

Well it’s that time of year when the staff at Twinfinite each gets the chance to reveal which five games most moved us this year, and I just couldn’t resist writing something about each of my favorites. My 2013 in gaming has been very educational, as I came to terms with series’ that I had fallen in and out of love with, series’ I’d never really loved in the first place, and even one that swept me off my feet [...]

A Final Case for Bioshock Infinite

Well, boys and girls, it’s that time of year again.  That time when “game of the year” lists and awards are trotted out to remind us what exactly came out in the past year and what exactly was the best.  The year in question is 2013, the Year of Luigi, and there some very strong contenders for various awards, as some venues have already issued out.  Among some of the expected titles such as The Last of Us and Grand [...]

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Listed for PS4 on Amazon Italy

Is Tomb Raider bridging the console generation gap? A listing posted on Amazon Italy seems to indicate just that. The entry lists Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition for the PS4. According to the listing, the Definitive Edition would include all released DLC.  The listing right now is for just PS4, but seeing Tomb Raider on Xbox One wouldn’t suprise anyone.  Additionally, the release is listed as January 24th, so maybe we’ll be seeing a more official announcement in the near future. Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead: Season 2 Is On Its Way

Fans of Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead may soon have some tangible news for them to get their zombie mitts on. Earlier tonight, Telltale tweeted a mildly enigmatic message urging fans to “Keep that hair short…” alongside an image of Clementine’s hat lying in the grass. Best part about this is a time and a date set for this Tuesday, 10/29 at 12pm Pacific and 3pm Eastern time. What exactly Telltale will be putting out there is unknown: it could be [...]

The Walking Dead: Game of the Year Edition Rated By ESRB

Sure, its not The Walking Dead Season 2 release day announcement we were hoping for, but any news is good news, right? A recent post by the ESRB has all but announced a Game of the Year edition of Telltale’s The Walking Dead. The GOTY release will be coming to Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and OSX and will have the totally unexpected rating of Mature. The description on the ESRB page breaks down the reason for the Mature rating by mentioning every [...]

Dishonored: Game of the Year Edition Now Available

While it didn’t make it onto my top 5 list last year, Dishonored was a game I had a lot of fun with. Developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda, this game combined stealth, action, steampunk, and open world gameplay along with an aesthetic that merged the beautiful/creepy look of Bioshock with the oppressive city design of Half-Life 2. In layman’s terms, it was a pretty kick-ass game and as of today it’s even more so as Dishonored: Game [...]
