New Video Game Concert Series, rePLAY, Coming to North America

As the spiritual successor of Play! A Video Game Symphony, rePLAY: Symphony of Heroes is making waves across the world. Its debut is going to be at the Sydney Opera House on March 7th (through the 8th), but its North American debut will be on April 19th. Gamers near St. Petersburg might want to go get their symphony on with this clash of music and art. The concert looks to depict memorable moments from games like Journey, The Legend of Zelda, The [...]

Best of My Love – Twinfinite Staff’s Valentine Crushes

Look around on the Internet today (actually don’t), and it’s easy to see that a lot of people are pretty cynical about Valentine’s Day. Yes, it may be a big commercialized non-holiday, but that doesn’t mean you can’t just eat some candy and have fun. Around the Twinfinite office, for example, we have a special ritual that we do; I give our writers an assignment to write about, and they do it so I don’t get mad at them. Doesn’t [...]

NES Remix Review – feat. DJ DK Jr., MC Luigi, and Lil Kim

Nearly everyone, their mother, and probably their dog has played Super Mario Bros., but never like it is in NES Remix, a new and intriguing title for the Nintendo Wii U eShop that takes the core elements of many of their old games from the Nintendo Entertainment System (called Famicom in Japan), and repackages them with all sorts of challenges. Now the question at hand: is this just a cheap exploitation of Nintendo nostalgia and already well-known games or is [...]

Nintendo Is A Tease: Is Majora’s Mask Coming To The 3DS?

Nintendo knows exactly what we want, but they won’t say it. In a recent interview with Game Informer, Hiromasa Shikata lightly hinted at the idea of a 3DS rerelease of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. Shikata is the director of recent Zelda game A Link Between Worlds. In the interview, Shikata stated, “[Having Majora's Mask in Link's house] was a special request from Aonuma’s production team. Now why would they ask us to do that?” Why indeed. Tease. Twinfinite Staff’s Top 5 Games of the Year List – Thursday Edition!

Oh it looks like I’ll be in charge of today’s portion of our Game of the Year week? Well, well, well, what a year this has been. Lots of big names, lots of small names that became big names, and lots of odd names only certain people remember. Of course, just because the same names get thrown around for game of the year doesn’t mean we can’t have a little diversity. You’ll find some surprising titles, some not surprising titles, [...]

NES Remix Adds Twists on the Games That Started it All

Just when you thought you knew how to play those NES games many of us grew up playing decades ago, Nintendo releases NES Remix, completely by surprise. NES Remix is an arcade challenge title that takes 16 classic NES games and takes certain levels or parts of levels, remasters them, and challenges you to complete them within a set time limit or under certain conditions. For example, the game may have you play levels of Super Mario Bros. completely backwards, [...]

What Needs to Be Included in Hyrule Warriors, the New Zelda Action Game

During the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata announced a collaboration with Tecmo Koei to create a new action title in the style of the popular Dynasty Warriors series, but set in the land of Hyrule, starring our green clad hero, tentatively named Hyrule Warriors. This is both great and okay news, however. Tecmo Koei is developing the title which offers them a massive library of content to choose from and include in the title. The trailer right [...]

Twinfinite’s Holiday Gift Guide for the Wii U Gamer

Note from Editor Chris: Nintendo is, and always has been, the King of holiday shopping. When you think of kids shouting and screaming exstatically while opening their present, it’s usually because that box contained a Nintendo console. Your gamer probably experienced that last year when the Wii U came out, which leaves you at a loss for this year’s gifts. Well here’s a Holiday Gift Guide to follow for those that game with the Wii U. The Legend of Zelda: Wind [...]

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Review – An Exercise in Timelessness

Timelessness is often the main ingredient in many of Nintendo’s masterpieces. For over 40 years, video games have reached varying audiences through multiple systems, inciting different reactions, sentiments, and bouts of excitement, and for some, it’s gotten harder to find what they were looking for. Nowadays, there is no greater feeling than experiencing a game that, no matter how old or cynical you get, leaves you in utter astonishment at its supremacy. Some people love to talk about that one [...]

Predicting the Plot of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Courtesy of Nintendo of America, this beauty was unveiled for everyone today. This latest trailer for The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds seriously gave me goosebumps. Lately, I’ve just been pretty excited for it, being a huge fan of the Legend of Zelda games, but Nintendo just signed, sealed, and delivered a beautiful love letter to the fans of the series. Up until now, we have been introduced to the newest mechanics in the game, but the details [...]
