E3 – An Unnecessary Amount of Pictures From the Conferences

While we only managed to make it to Microsoft and EA, the general consensus is that showing up to these conferences is really only good the first time for the experience of it all. Hours of wait, being herded like sheep, and it’s all to just see what people at home see far better in the comfort of their office chair isn’t really a good deal to duplicate more than once. I took some wonderful photos that are really just [...]

E3 – Microsoft Press Conference Impressions

After hours of being herded around like sheep, we finally were able to watch the Microsoft presser at E3. Was the wait, agonizing pain on my swollen ankle, and sunburn worth it? No. The answer is no. But I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of game announcements (Killer Instinct!), even if that doesn’t mean a thing when the negative features drive me completely away from buying an Xbox One at launch. Watch our impressions, bask in our exhaustion.

E3 – Zero Dark Solid – Red Band Trailer for Metal Gear Solid V

So I know I posted the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain trailer yesterday, but it turns out there is a red band, extended trailer that adds about 3 minutes of intense footage of the graphic nature. I’m thinking Mr. Kojima watched Zero Dark Thirty recently. Seriously though, it’s pretty intense and depicts torture (on children?) and other unseemly stuff that we can post because we bring you the truth and never aver our eyes from the heartbeat of [...]

E3 – Sony Confirms Used Gaming and No Always-Online DRM

Finally, Sony confirms used gaming and no always-online DRM! In the E3 press conference today, Sony reps took a not-so-subtle shot at their competitors at Microsoft by stating that they will not restrict used gaming, and will not require an internet connection for their games. This will certainly appeal to a number of parties:

E3 – Quantum Break Almost Made Me Think It Was Live Action

So when I first saw this trailer after missing the Microsoft stream I asked my coworkers “Oh so is this is a live action trailer for Remedy’s new game?” “This is pre-rendered dude.” If Remedy games is never in want of, it’s graphical fidelity with Alan Wake being one of the best looking games of the now previous generation. Hit up the trailer for fancy facial models, mirror shards, and a whole lot of mystery. Quantum Break is an Xbox [...]

E3 – Dead Rising 3 Announced as Xbox One Exclusive

Set in the abandoned city of Los Perdidos, lone mechanic Nick must face off against the entire zombie horde. The entire city, no loading times, and the most robust crafting system in the series. Dead Rising 3 is looking to be the biggest culmination of the series’ ambitions so far. All the while Nick is attaching weapons atop other weapons to create more weapons. The good ol’ Dead Rising way. Included is Smartglass integration and will be coming out in [...]

State of Decay Preview – Are We Tired of Zombies Yet?

The answer to that question obviously is no. So here we are sitting on the release of yet another zombie title. I booted it up wondering what redeeming qualities the game would have seeing as its garnered quite a bit of sales recently, and found myself having to pull myself away from it just to type this little preview up. I’m not sure if this game just kinda flew under my radar or what exactly happened on the lead up [...]

What We’re Looking Forward To From E3 2013

E3 2013 is almost upon us and the Twinfinite office is ready for the deluge of news that will be coming from the City of Angels. Next-gen consoles, new IPs, and sequels in successful franchises will all have detailed reveals and we’ll be here/there/everywhere covering it all. Needless to say, we’re all very excited and calling dibs on the news we want to cover. Here are the announcements we are most looking forward to. As far as I know, there [...]

Xbox One – Microsoft Clarifies Rumors

With the impending launch of a new generation of consoles comes the age-old question of backward compatibility. Microsoft confirmed today that the Xbox One will not be able to play Xbox 360 games, but that they do intend to continue supporting the Xbox 360 in the near future. In addition to that, Microsoft also added that games will have to be installed on the consoles 500gb hard drive before they can be played. Following installation, users will not need to [...]

Call of Duty Ghosts? More Like Call of Duty BROSTS!

Who didn’t see this coming? With a new Xbox means a new Call of Duty and Infinity Ward is back with Call of Duty Ghosts. A next-gen entry into the series they’ve hired writer Steven Gaghan (Traffic, Syriana) to build an emotional and narrative driven entry into the franchise. My thoughts? It’s a prettier thing we’ve seen before but aside from state-of-the-art doggy mo-cap I still can’t get myself overly excited until I see a bit more than the graphics.
