E3 – Sonic Lost World Hands-On Preview

One of my big secret shames as a decades-long video game enthusiast is that I’ve never really played a Sonic the Hedgehog game before. Naturally I’m familiar with them and have a basic understanding of how they work, but I never knew anyone with a Sega console so it was perpetually out of reach. There was no better place to experience Sonic than at E3, where I had some hands-on time with the upcoming Sonic Lost World on the Wii [...]

E3 – Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl Arrives in Summer

Another in the long line of Etrian Odyssey games, Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl will be making its way to Nintendo 3DS and eShop to Western shores this summer. Two new modes are included, a story mode that retells the first Etrian Odyssey game with original characters and a fixed story, and a Classic Mode which gives you the same creation abilities and customization of the hardcore series. The series has been aiming to reach a new audience and [...]

E3 – The Wonderful 101 Multiplayer Looks…Well, Wonderful

The Wonderful 101 was announced way before the WiiU hit shelves and was originally planned as a launch title. Obviously it didn’t make the cut, but today’s Nintendo Direct showed us just what we’re waiting for. Today’s footage showcased both the combat of The Wonderful 101 and the newly announced multiplayer mode. Different multiplayer stages were shown, but by the looks of things the mode is pretty straightforward. Up to five players can play at once and each player controls his or her [...]

E3 – Super Mario 3D World is Just What the World Needs

After the majesty that is Super Mario 3D Land graced the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo made a lovely move in bringing a sequel to the Wii U, complete with 4-player capabilities similar to Super Mario Bros. 2. Super Mario 3D World will have  Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess Peach as playable characters. Also, a new power-up has been introduced, giving the characters cat suits, which allows them to climb walls and dive into enemies. We’ll keep you updated as more information [...]

E3 – A New Challenger Approaches! Super Smash Bros Game and Roster Announced

Nintendo was saving the best for last with this one. To the great surprise of no one, the WiiU is getting a new Super Smash Bros game. The trailer shown during the E3 Nintendo Direct today showcased both new and old characters. Newcomers the Villager from Animal Crossing and Megaman join the fray. A new wrestling ring stage and the train from The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks stood out to me as a few of the notable new stages. Super Smash Bros [...]

E3 – Mario Kart 8 Because No One Escapes the Blue Shell

During today’s Nintendo Direct video, Satoru Iwata showed off a trailer with gameplay footage of Mario Kart 8 for the Nintendo Wii U. While Mario Kart 7 introduced flying and underwater driving into the mix, Mario Kart 8 will bring anti-gravity driving. The trailer shows various characters riding along walls and even upside down, which is sure to confuse the hell out of you and your friends. Although the trailer did not show off many of the items that will [...]

E3 – The Kongs are back in Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze

A new Donkey Kong Country game was announced during Nintendo Direct today and it looks pretty sweet. In Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Donkey Kong island has been overrun with vikings from the North Sea. Its up to Donkey Kong, along with both Diddy and Dixie, to fight off the invaders. The new game brags about featuring full HD graphics, allowing you to sit and stare as Donkey Kong’s fur waves in the wind. Seriously, that was a feature mentioned. While [...]

Luigi’s Mansion LTTP Review — It’s Like Silent Hill for Kids!

Before Luigi jogged his way on over to the Nintendo 3DS in Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, he starred in the original series’ starting entry on the GameCube launch title, Luigi’s Mansion. Having never played the first one before, I wanted to be able to compare to its new handheld successor and just experience it for the first time. Upon opening the doors to the mansion, I found something flawed, but very special.

The second title in the prolific Harvest Moon franchise is getting a 3DS release, according to a tweet sent by Natsume earlier today. Harvest Moon GBC will be appearing on the 3DS eShop Thursday, marking its third release on a Nintendo handheld.  The farming simulation game was originally released to the Game Boy in 1998 as Harvest Moon GB, making it the first of the popular farming sim to go portable.
