Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Has Been Delayed Again

Today the Prince of Persia team via their official Twitter account has announced that the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake is going to need to be delayed. No new date or release window was given.

The team cited the need for extra development time in order to meet the threshold of a remake that feels fresh while remaining faithful to the original.

Here’s the full statement from the dev team:

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was already delayed once back in December to March 2021 since being announced back in September. The original delay was blamed on Covid-19 complicating development. This time around the reasoning is a bit more vague.

In this day and age, most players seem to prefer delaying a game if it means it’s going to lead to fewer problems at launch. The negative reaction to Cyberpunk 2077’s troubled launch is still lingering and it’s unlikely that anyone, Ubisoft included, wants to lead any of their titles down a similar road.
