Even though we literally JUST wrapped up our “We Scare Because We Care” contest, we’re crazy enough to start another giveaway. While going over all the entries for the last one, Yami and I were very surprised at The Walking Dead receiving the least amount of entries. As a unit, Twinfinite LOVED Telltale’s masterpiece and we were all eagerly awaiting the release of 400 Days, which will bridge the gap between Season 1 and Season 2 and introduce five new characters. (Stay tuned for our review!)
I know I won’t be the only one who will spend the entire 4th of July weekend playing 400 Days and since Telltale Games has been kind enough to give us codes for the XBLA, PSN, and Steam versions, we want our fellow Walking Dead-lovers to get the chance to jump back into this amazing universe. Here’s all you have to do to enter:
-Log on to our forums.
-Go to the “The Walking Dead: 400 Days giveaway” post and let us know who your favorite Walking Dead character is and why. The character can be from the comic, TV show, or the Telltale game. No Survival Instinct. Get that out of here.
Entries will be accepted until this Friday, July 5th, so take a second to think about your favorite character, then go enter! Winners will also be announced Friday night in a post, the forums, and on our Twitter, so be sure to keep in touch! As the forums are still in beta, shoot us a tweet or send me an email letting me know of any issues. Good luck!
My favorite Walking Dead character is Glenn. Of all the characters he’s the one I relate to the most. If I happened to experience a zombie outbreak I hope I find a hot farmer’s daughter to settle down with
My favorite character is lee because he is crazy background that is some what unknown but now that he has the chance he is trying to be a better person even if its just for clementine. I also like clementine because her name reminds me of my last name.
Clementine, b/c I have that kind of relationship to the little sister of a very close personal friend of mine. He’s in the military and her parents don’t spend time with her, so I babysit and watch her and we always have fun and play together. Just like how Lee is protective of Clementine, I’m protective of her and I will kill or sacrifice myself to protect her.
Molly was so badass and funky. She kicked ass and didn’t bother taking names. She didn’t need anyone, but when it came down to it, she helped out when necessary. (I hope this isn’t a double entry because I already wrote something similar to this, and it didn’t show up.)
Rick, because he manages to go from waking up from a coma not having any idea what’s going on to surviving a zombie apocalypse and leading a group of survivors. He’s kind of a badass.
My favorite Walking Dead character has to be Lee Everett. When I started playing the history professor I simply saw him a husk, someone who’s only purpose was for me to input decisions and actions. But eventually I grew I saw that he wasn’t only a mirror image of myself. He had a life before the world ended and, like everyone else, it became almost irrelevant in this new environment. Lee was a conduit that channeled whether survival was the most significant reason of living or if hanging on to your morality was important as well.
My favorite character in the Walking Dead is definitely Abraham Ford (from the comics). He waltzes up and is a total badass, but after you find out what made him into the guy he became you just can’t help but become emotionally invested in him. Despite his bad decisions in his love life and kind of being a scum bag, I couldn’t hate him and I loved him dearly right up until the moment he finally but the dust. He’s the kind of guy that I honestly think I would be during a zombie apocalypse.
My favorite character is definitely Lee, or at least, how I portrayed Lee. The greatest thing about video games is it’s interactivity with the characters and being able to be at the helm of a particular character. What’s even more amazing about a game like Mass Effect or The Walking Dead is the great deal of choices and consequences you are met with throughout the journey and seeing what you’ve done to sway how the story goes.
Lee gets to be your hand in the Walking Dead mythology, so not only are you experiencing his story, but you are a part of his story, as he is part of yours. You create a bit of a symbiotic relationship through him in order to care for (Or not care for) other people in this imagined world.
Aside from the fact that the emotions that Lee feels are directly correlated with your own emotions while going through the game, Lee has a history and development that we want to learn and we’re eager to find out about. He’s shown to be someone who, in a normal society, would be imprisoned and sentenced to life, but in this world, he gets a chance to do some good for the people around him. A chance to show what he’s really worth and his caring personality.
Daryl Dixon is mine because he has always been living in the shadow of his older brother Merle and i have 3 older brothers myself. Daryl is a badass at zombie killing and has become a major part of the group and has saved them many times. he comes from a broken home which i come from as well. another reason he is my favorite character is because he was the one who wouldn’t give up on looking for Sophia almost dying in the process which made the impact from a certain event all the more powerful on him and the viewer.
My favorite character is Lee Everette, I think that he sets a good example on how “bad” guys can become heroes. He starts off as someone that committed a crime, but in the end he not only redeems himself, but becomes a real hero by sacrificing himself to save Clementine. I liked how his character portrays the fact that heroes or “good” guys are not perfect people, that they have two sides just like everyone else, and that anyone can choose to become a hero regardless of one’s mistakes or where one is in life. I really wish that he hadn’t died in the end, though. That part actually made me cry, and I usually never cry when playing video games.
I love Daryl more than anyone in the walking dead! he’s just awesome and a brute! i feel like nothing can take him down. Since the very first season that i’ve watched the show i knew i was going to love him from the start! Me and my dad both think he’s just the best person in it i love the story behind him and his brother.
Thanks for the chance to win! i would really love to win this game because i played all the other episodes in the first walking dead game and had a blast! one of the best games i played of all time.
I choose Carl! Everyone hates him so he is bound to have his own spinoff
This is a hard one. I have a hard time choosing between clementine and lee. We have such an innocent girl who goes though such a climatic experience and drives the story and we have an unknown convict, who we do not know his past for sure but we get to choose what we make of it through our choices.
The first game was absolutely amazing. Can’t wait to give this one a spin. Thanks guys for the opportunity. Preferred console: Steam.
I choose Omid from the video game. He is a funny, friendly guy who always tries to lighted the mood with humor. XBLA
