Batman: Arkham Knight’s Batgirl DLC Coming Soon; Joker Showdown Imminent

Throughout Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham trilogy Barbara Gordon has assumed the identity of Oracle, and has played the role of an important supporting character; providing valuable information and assistance to Batman.

This time, Barbara is getting her chance to shine as she dons her own cowl as Batgirl in Arkham Knight‘s DLC expansion Batgirl: A Matter of Family. The DLC will take place prior to the events of Arkham Alsyum and will team Batgirl with Robin (exactly which of the Robins it will be hasn’t been confirmed yet) as she attempts to save her father Commissioner Jim Gordon from the clutches of the Joker.

Batgirl’s combat style will be a combination of Batman’s melee prowess as well as Barbara’s genus intellect, as she will employ her hacking skills to even the odds and solve puzzles strewn about a brand new setting.

Batgirl
This won’t end well.

Batgirl: A Matter of Family is slated to launch July 14 for those who ponied up for the season-pass, and July 21 for everyone else. Knowing Barbara’s destiny to become Oracle and Arkham Knight‘s decidedly darker tone, pitting her against the Joker might not end well for our hero.

Are you excited for the Batgirl DLC? Did you expect it to be available so soon? Let us hear about it!
