Fallout 4: How to Get the Touchdown Achievement/Trophy

Fallout 4 has a lot of achievements, and for the most part they’re all pretty straight forward. Kill this many enemies, craft this many things, or go to this many places. But, there are a few that require a bit of thinking before you can figure them out. One of the head scratchers is the Touchdown Trophy/Achievement.

Unlike the Homerun trophy/achievement, there is no football arena for you to go to and complete Touchdown, nor is there an abundance of football gear sitting around the Boston wasteland in Fallout 4. This particular achievement actually requires that you die in a very specific way.

Super Mutants come in many variations. The Skirmisher is the closed range variation that usually carries a melee weapon such as a wooden plank or a rusty pipe. Once in a blue moon, these monstrosities will charge at you holding a live bomb. You’ll be able to hear its telltale beep and the mutant yelling silly things at you as it makes its way over.

Simply let the mutant plow right into you and BOOM! you’ve completed the requirements for Touchdown and have yourself another Trophy/Achievement.

One place where you’re sure to encounter one of these guys is near the end of the Freedom Trail quest. The second to last stop will have you face off against several super mutants and their pets. Clear out the Super Mutants and their mutated dogs as you wait for the suicide bomber to visit you with a sweet, sweet dea… ah who are we kidding, he’s going to blow you the heck up.

Have you allowed yourself to be exploded into tons of tiny bits just to get the Touchdown trophy/achievement? Be sure to let us know in the comments below.
